I liked this story overall but got frustrated with the last family’s story because I didn’t understand why their story was even shared or how it fit in. But the conclusion had a surprising ending that helped me understand why that family’s story was included.

The history lesson I didn’t know I needed.

The story was very good, though a bit laborious at times. I understand why it was added yet it’s still drug the story out a bit. Otherwise I’m very glad. I listen to it on audible and highly recommended to anybody because the history lesson learned is something we all need.

We get the dog we need, not necessarily the dog we want.

This was an enjoyable story on a difficult subject. Losing a dog, or two, is traumatic, whether by being hit by a car or dying with cancer. My sweet little dog died of old age and dementia, called canine cognitive disorder.
The author and the narrator did an excellent job sharing that trauma without being traumatic. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves or has loved a dog!

The story was enjoyable as was the narrator’s voice. It was nice that it wasn’t too long, too.

Religion’s death grip

The story was well written with the surprise ending that everyone is talking about! But there were surprises all along the way, which makes it even more worthwhile.
All religions can have a death grip, especially on the innocent and gullible. Shame on all religions!

An easy listen

This story was an easy listen, meaning it wasn’t deep or intense. If you’re looking for a break from dark suspense, this is your story! It’s kept you guessing without being macabre. It was a quick listen as well, which was also a nice change.

Excellent and informative!!

What a great story with wondrous depiction of words. The voices were perfect and the occasional background sounds created mental images I could not have done myself. I have listened to it three times and strongly urge you to experience this story as well!
