Historia
Relentless phone calls interrupt the peace of a warm August morning in Three Pines. Though the tiny Québec village is impossible to find on any map, someone has managed to track down Armand Gamache, head of homicide at the Sûreté, as he sits with his wife in their back garden. Reine-Marie watches with increasing unease as her husband refuses to pick up, though he clearly knows who is on the other end. When he finally answers, his rage shatters the calm of their quiet Sunday morning.

Hard to get through
Revisado: 11-20-24
I looked so forward to reading The Grey Woolf, but the narrator spoiled my reading/listening experience! There are so little differences between the characters that I found the novel difficult to finish. This was definitely not Louise Penny’s best. Please use another narrator the next time.

Historia
In the wake of his parents' tragic deaths in a house fire, fourteen-year-old Richard Elauved has been sent to live with his aunt and uncle in the remote, insular town of Ballantyne. Richard quickly earns a reputation as an outcast, and when a classmate named Tom goes missing, everyone suspects the angry new boy is responsible for his disappearance. No one believes him when he says the telephone booth out by the edge of the woods sucked Tom into the receiver like something out of a horror movie. No one, that is, except Karen.

Reality vs Fantasy

An interesting psych novel where reality and fantasy interchanges. The ending was a bit predictable but good. A bit outside the usual horror genre! Teens should also enjoy it.

I think of all the books, I was most uncomfortable with the Umbridge character because she is so evil! Could not stop listening to it before the Centaurs finally carried her away. Stephen Fry is a master at reading and making each character come alive.

Historia
1539. Anne of Cleves wins the dangerous prize of becoming Henry VIII’s fourth wife. From the start, Anne’s royal blood, education and fierce intelligence count for nothing as the king pursues young Katherine Howard. Katherine is a pawn in the political manoeuvres of her ambitious family; unprepared for the dangers that await, she steps into their trap. At her side is kinswoman Jane Boleyn, who has served - and betrayed - one queen already: her sister-in-law Anne, who died on Henry’s scaffold. Will Jane betray a second queen to the headsman?

All the dialogues seem so real and give the reader so much insite into how historical royalty thought and how they were plotted against! Could not stop listening.

Historia
Stephen Fry brings the richness of these magical stories to life in the original British recordings. The Triwizard Tournament is to be held at Hogwarts. Only wizards who are over seventeen are allowed to enter - but that doesn't stop Harry dreaming that he will win the competition. Then at Hallowe'en, when the Goblet of Fire makes its selection, Harry is amazed to find his name is one of those that the magical cup picks out. He will face death-defying tasks, dragons and Dark wizards, but with the help of his best friends, Ron and Hermione, he might just make it through - alive!

I love J.K. Rowling’s ability to keep her readers turning page after page! As audiobooks, I could not stop listening. Stephen Fry is one of the best readers for her books. He makes all her charcters come to life!! A fantasy book for both young and old.
