Historia
When African jihadis attack a Nigerian regiment using American weapons, Cabrillo and the Oregon crew are on the case, investigating from Afghanistan to Kuala Lumpur to track a mysterious arms dealer—a genius, or perhaps a devil—known only as the Vendor. Cabrillo goes undercover to find the Vendor’s base, but his adversary isn’t just an arms smuggler. He’s an arms maker, and Cabrillo just walked into a lethal military game alongside the most dangerous mercenaries in the world, designed to test the Vendor’s cutting-edge AI arsenal.

It’s not the best, it’s not the worst. If you are a fan it’s worth a read. If you aren’t, this is not the book to start with.

Historia
In a realm where one’s magical power determines one’s worth, Lady Everleigh’s lack of obvious ability relegates her to the shadows of the royal court of Bellona, a kingdom steeped in gladiator tradition. Seventeenth in line for the throne, Evie is nothing more than a ceremonial fixture, overlooked and mostly forgotten. But dark forces are at work inside the palace. When her cousin Vasilia, the crown princess, assassinates her mother the queen and takes the throne by force, Evie is also attacked, along with the rest of the royal family.

The narrator is good. The story is fun. A bit predictable at times, but the world-building alone is worth your time. Buy it without fear of disappointment.

Historia
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

Great New World
Revisado: 12-28-23
This is a well-written and well-narrated book. Certainly a good read. It is not really young-adult though. At least it seems a bit sexy for the average teen, at least in my opinion.

Historia
As the war begins, Hanna Rombauer, a young German woman, is sent to live with her aunt and uncle after her mother’s death. Thrown into a life of luxury she never expected, Hanna soon finds herself unwillingly matched with an SS officer twenty years her senior. The independence that her mother lovingly fostered in her is considered highly inappropriate as the future wife of an up-and-coming officer and she is sent to a “bride school.” There, in a posh villa on the outskirts of town, Hanna is taught how to be a “proper” German wife.

Predictable but Pretty Good
Revisado: 09-26-23
You know what it is about so you can predict the story. I wanted to hear more about the bride school and life as a married nazi couple. Instead you get a lot of teen drama and the bride part is just crammed into the last few chapters. Needed a better editor I think.

Historia
The life of Princess May of Teck is one of the great Cinderella stories in history. From a family of impoverished nobility, she was chosen by Queen Victoria as the bride for her eldest grandson, the scandalous Duke of Clarence, heir to the throne, who died mysteriously before their marriage. Despite this setback, she became queen, mother of two kings, grandmother of the current queen, and a lasting symbol of the majesty of the British throne.

Awful Main Characters
Revisado: 03-31-22
This book is exhausting. Is the daughter, Andi on some sort of spectrum. It is tiresome to read anybody so petulant who can only say what. She can’t form thoughts and keeps struggling to control her bladder.
I’m sure the story could be interesting but I can’t get past the awful characters.

Imagine a blackout lasting not days, but weeks or months. Tens of millions of people over several states are affected. For those without access to a generator, there is no running water, no sewage, no refrigeration or light. Food and medical supplies are dwindling. Devices we rely on have gone dark. Banks no longer function, looting is widespread, and law and order are being tested as never before.

Worst Narration Ever
Revisado: 02-15-21
The topic is already a bit dry and the narrator sounds like a robot. Also, read the history of this author before buying. If you believe Edward Snowden was a whistleblower and not a traitor than this may be your book. It’s just really political in ways that seem unamerican, I tried.... you shouldn’t..
