Not what I thought it was This is a fantasy novel,

centered around sexual fantasy. After listening for a few hours I gave up on it.
The book is centered around a young girl that has been groomed to become the lord's plaything. But she then escapes, and her resigned fawning over a boy that's somewhat in the same situation as her starts. The author might be looking to 50 shades of Grey for inspiration, I don't know, but I gave in when the story seemed to be heading nowhere but towards sexual frustration for the girl. The story might have been a good one, but falls hard.

Great start, but a bit naive to my liking.

The book starts of great, and for a youth, it might be good. But to many things just falls in the hands of the hero of the story. One can sort of spot it from a mile away. Haven't decided if I want to try the next one in the series yet, but not immediately at any rate. Great promise in the story, but dialogue is flawed.

Another great book

Yet again Dakota Krout manages to produce a book with whits and a storyline that's good. I like the puns, and the subject matter of the series. If you like magic and D&D style stories, try this series. I really enjoyed this.

As an enthusiastic D&D player, this book is a fantastic read. The narrative is also great, the characters comes to life. If you like D&D, then this is definitely for you!

Intriguing start of a new series.

I must first confess to love Sanderson's writing, regardless of what it's about. He has this one special thing, indefinable but present, that grips me and makes me want to go on exploring the story.
This book is no different, I stayed awake most of the night, encapsulated in this foreign world. And even if the storyline wasn't unforeseeable, the characters makes their suffering and hardships come to life. My only problem is, how to wait for the sequel.... Please say your working on it already, mr. Sanderson!

This series is so captivating, it's a shame the next in the series haven't been recorded yet. I just can't find the time to sit down and read, but commuting by car I can listen to books. Love this series, and can't wait for the next ones.

I love a book where the storyline takes twist and turns, and you can't see the plot unfolding. Here's a great plot, and with solid narration, it makes for a great listen. Recommended for all fans of space opera!

This series is well worth its listening. A space opera that captures your imagination for sure. The main character has his shortcomings, but as they are mainly consistent, it's livable. My best recommendation, I will purchase the rest of the books.

This starts out as any scifi book, but the rest feels fresh and original. Some of the gory parts is not for me, but overall a great story and awesome performance. I like that it's not easy to guess the outcome.

Great follow up

First and foremost this is an entertaining book. And the narration is great. I would like some more consistency to the main character, as he seems unable to grasp stuff at one moment, and the next he's a genius that all around him cheers forward. I can live with it though, as the book in large is well written and plotwise not to bad.
