Historia
Food has always been an integral part of Stanley Tucci’s life: from stracciatella soup served in the shadow of the Pantheon, to marinara sauce cooked between scene rehearsals and costume fittings, to home-made pizza eaten with his children before bedtime. Now, in What I Ate in One Year Tucci records twelve months of eating—in restaurants, kitchens, film sets, press junkets, at home and abroad, with friends, with family, with strangers, and occasionally just by himself.

Stanley is a legend!
Revisado: 11-09-24
With a plethora of great books horrendously narrated by who wrote them (who makes these decisions?) Stanley’s performance makes this a book that must be listened to … and perhaps not read conventionally. I just finished listening, and I cannot wait to listen again in the very near future.

Historia
Turmoil and Transition in Boston tells the personal and political story of Larry DiCara, the youngest person ever elected to the Boston City Council. DiCara's story is intimately woven into the fate of his hometown of Boston. As the federal court order mandating busing to achieve racial integration in the public schools ripped apart his city, he shows how public policy decisions and economic and demographic changes from that time transformed Boston into one of America's most diverse, affluent, and successful cities in the 21st century.

I really wish they'd hire a professional narrator!

Please understand this ... I am a huge fan of Jordan B. Peterson, but as much as I enjoy devouring Jordan Peterson's stuff online, when it comes to enjoying and appreciating an audio/book from a phenomenal author, no matter how good the book is, voice over talent is key in the listenability of the book and to my willingness to purchase it. I badly wanted to 'listen' to this book, but my ears just couldn't do it. I am requesting a refund. I'm very sad :(
Also, I just noticed that Jordan Peterson published another very long audiobook that I would have purchased in a heartbeat, but once again, he is narrating and I just can't do it. My assumption here is that Jordan Peterson's success makes hiring voice over talent non-problematic ... but I just don't get why books of this caliber do not choose a great voice actor. Just my two cents. Love the man, but it kills me that I'm unwilling to listen and will have to possibly do the real reading ... which means reading at night and falling asleep after 4 seconds. Ironically, the book is very popular on Audible and not many people might share my opinion ... and that's quite ok. Jordan, I love your mind man, please hire VO talent for your next book!!!
