Historia
At the heart of these stories, as with all the best of Lovecraft’s work, is the belief that the Earth was once inhabited by powerful and evil gods, just waiting for the chance to recolonise their planet. Cthulhu is one such god, lurking deep beneath the sea until called into being by cult followers who – like all humans – know not what they do.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes but it may send them mad just by listening, but such is the risk if you delve into the necronomicon or the worship of the elder gods
"Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn"
What other book might you compare Call of Cthulhu and Other Stories to and why?
i am now unable to comprehend any other books because of the infinite madness that has seeped into my mind from exposure to CTHULHU
"Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn"
What about William Roberts’s performance did you like?
The fact that he maintained his sanity whilst being so close to the necronomicon speaks volumes of this narrators will and expertise
"Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn"
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
i dont remember as i somehow ended up in this asylum in arkham with strange esoteric script written all over the walls in blood... wait.... is that ... my blood?????
"Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn"

A solid book, the experience lessened by narrator
Revisado: 03-17-13
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
i would recommend the book if you are interested in the D&D books or the forgotten realms campaign setting,i enjoyed the story when i was younger but my tastes have matured as i have, regardless its still a solid story and well paced, dont get me wrong Mel Odom is no Tolkien or Robert Holdstock but if you are someone who enjoys blow by blow accounts of fights, and simple characters with simple dialogue this may be the book for you but the drawling monotone and soulless perfomance of the narrator leaves much to be desired
Who was your favorite character and why?
Haarn Brightoak, the main protagonist is a good example of a true neutral character, most of the time, and im a sucker for druids so Haarn it is
How could the performance have been better?
a little bit of enthusiasm from the narrator would work wonders, as such she sounds like she doesnt want to be there reading for you, if you compare this narrator to say, Rob Inglis who narrated the unabridged fellowship, towers and return of the king, its apples and oranges, and in this case rotten apples, i am questioning now whether to buy the other forgotten realms books i like simply because they are narrated by soulless monotone Nicole Greevy a name that i will never forgive or forget, for lessening a book i so enjoyed in my childhood
Was The Jewel of Turmish worth the listening time?
the story is definately worth your time if you can stand the horrible narration
Any additional comments?
narrator is pretty crap, potentially ruining your whole experience
