Im sorry, I realy wanted to like the book, but I didnt very much.
I liked the H, but from being grumpy, sudenly admiting that he is in love with the h, and being all opoened and all, all in the same chapter😔 and forgeting all the years that past with no contact at all...it leads me to the h, she was like a child, and after finaly talking and understanding what happend which a lot of the lost years were becouse of her, and her lack of comunication, she didnt even apologize like she shouldve, and the H was like, oh thats ok its all good, and the lack of anget and confrotetion with her mother for not giving her the letters, just No.
yes the massege of the book is, not to be angry, and to not lose time and all, but its a prosses that peapole have to live, and feel the emotions like anger and from there to grow and forgive, but here in the book, its like all those who did damege, including the h, it was like, " oh ok, its all good, no need to confront anyone or anything"
sorry didnt like that, and didnt care for this book becouse of it.

I liked this book, its the thired series that im reading by this author, and im happy to see that she started changing a little from her usual plots, and there is more spice in the intemite scens, becouse, it felt like it was starting to be very repetetive, and im happy she changed that, and it makes me want to read the series.
also what i loved in this book was, that in the end, the hero saved the h, but he got hurt isted of the like in all privious books and series, it was refreshing.
I liked this book, like always, and with what I already mentioned above, it only added to my enjoyment.

My new boss—Alexander Bane. Aptly named since he’s the bane of my existence. Please isn’t in his vocabulary. He grunts, growls, and demands. If only he didn’t look so sexy when doing so. If only his mouth weren’t so addictive when kissing mine. He’s quickly becoming my favorite boss. Which is wrong. My new assistant is an unwelcomed distraction. Snarky, witty, always smiling. Constantly putting me in my place. Making me second-guess my decisions.

So Ill start by saying that audible needs to make a rating for male and female narrators sapartly, and not as performance overall, and that becouse Aiden Snow is 10/10 stars, but the female narrator wasnt so great, honastly I almost skipped Jules chapters becouse of the narration. Now, I liked the book, my personal preference is that the fmc is not with a huge sexual history, and I dont like the sex tape trope, I know im in minoroty here, but thats my personal preferene, so that part I didnt like that much. I liked Josh, and I liked Jules as a person too, the sex scenes were great, I love that type of tansion, and hate/love and that type of steamy scenes, so overall, very good book.

Historia
A year ago, Sabella Lockhart lived in sheltered gentility as the sister of a Scottish lord. Then her brother's shocking crimes came to light, leaving her with nothing but horrifying memories, unpayable debts, and a blackened name. Before she leaves Scotland, she must face the family he harmed most: the MacPhersons. But when a Highland robbery takes everything but the gown on her back, she's forced to accept help from the MacPherson who despises her more than any other. The one man she can't forget.

So ill start by saying that i love Elisa Braden, ive all the Ruined series and this series.
this book vas ok for me, I liked that Sabella didnt want gentle, and didnt want to change Alexander, she accepted him how he is and didnt try to gentle him, and she was naive but not that much that it would have been irratating.
I loved Alexander But and its a big BUT, I feel that I dindnt get enough from his pov, and for me it would have made a big difference in my enjoyment of the book if there was much more from his pov, for me its much more intersting the male pov.
Next, in this book I didnt understand the supernatural, the warnings and all that, becouse I felt that they didnt come to anithing, and I would have liked more danger, more action maybe.
It was hinted that what he did with her things would be a big problem, but in the end it was solved very quickly and almost with no problem, so there wasnt that heart gripping moment.
The ending was rushed.
And finally (I know that it maybe not a very popular opinion) but, I dont like the famele narration, not the narrator herself, but thats it famle narration, for me it would have much much more enjoyble if it was male narrator, much more when its big gruf highlanders, or a duet narration.
that for me 2 stars down ( I didnt want to take more, just becouse I loved the author)
I hope that the next book will be better, and that maybe the author would consider a male narrator
and I hope we wont have to wait that long, like it was with this book (2 years or so, its to long).

Historia
The scowl should’ve been my first clue to stay far away from Anson Hunt. The sexy smirk and the fact that he’s my brother’s best friend? Reasons two and three. Not to mention, he’s the new contractor working on my house. He’s everything I’m not: grumpy, rude, and more than a little attached to his solitude. It doesn’t matter how many times I try to kill him with kindness; the man simply won’t crack. Until he sees me shatter. Because when my world comes crashing down around me, Anson is the one catching me as I fall.

loved it
Revisado: 07-20-24
I love this author, but i always felt that there was something nissing in her books, like more passion, push and pull, more tanssion in the love story. i also noticed that in her books, when it comes to the sex scenes, they were always short, same lines in every book, and not very passioned. i wrote a review about it in another book, and its like someone heard me, im happy that in these book, there were al the thing i saide above, not 100% but it was better, more exiting, and different, from the sale lines like in other of her books. i hope this series will go in this direction. i liked the plot

I liked it, like all the books in the series, but i find that in this book and all the others in this series, that more passion apart from the suspense would have great. I like these books, but the the too easy relationship between the main charecters, its what leaves me wanting more, like more push and pull, it would have aded more. so liked this one and all the series but, its needed more
