If you're a fan of Carrie Ann's, you met Leif a loooong time ago in his dad's story Inked Temptation. Now it's the next generation of Montgomerys and it starts with Leif. Please know that you do not have to read any of Carrie Ann's previous books to listen to (and enjoy) this story.

It's hard to not have a soft spot for Leif, knowing his history. Even if you don't know Leif, it's hard to not have a soft spot. Anyway, this is sort of a second chance for Leif and Brooke, even though their break-up wasn't really a break-up. In some ways, their story reminds me of the movie Serendipity. They cross paths again down the road of life and their lives are in different places than they were as young adults: more responsibilities, more worries, more experiences. Brooke is looking for a new start, Leif just wants to keep his business afloat. It just so happens that Brooke's new start happens to be as neighbors to Leif's cousin, Lake, and they bump into each other. Will this second chance be what they need to rekindle old feelings?

Joe and Maxine give you what they always give: a good, reliable narration with their signature flairs and sounds.

As with all of Carrie Ann's books, I read Hunted in Darkness before listening to it. I already knew I loved the storyline and characters. I knew I'd be in for a treat, but I didn't know exactly how amazing the duo of Kit Swann and Aiden Snow would be as Skye and Chase.

Chase has had a tumultuous life, with his adult life guided by prophecies told to him and the truths he thought he knew. Skye is as loyal as they come to her friends, family, and her responsibilities. Skye and Chase are forced down paths they didn't see coming, and sometimes things aren't always as they seem. Starting as loyalty and an attraction "with benefits," Skye and Chase have to take a closer look at all the things they thought they knew about themselves, each other, and those around them.

Kit and Aiden were made for narrating Skye and Chase. I could not have come up with a better duo to bring these characters and their story to life. Hunted in Darkness is 100% one of my top audiobook narrations ever.

I read this book and loved it. And then I listened to this story and really loved it. This is a story made for audio and the narrators are perfection!

Sage is going back "home" after quite a time away. She's recently lost her husband and has realized that there's nothing for her in Virginia, so she heads back to Ravenwood to start her bakery. As she gets closer to town, some interesting things start happening and nothing makes sense... or does it?

Ravenwood has some surprises in store for it's longest residents and it's newest resident and it's quite a ride in Dawn Unearthed.

Jaxi has had a rough life. Nothing good ever stays for her. She needs a restart on her life and it's going to be in the form of a cush nanny job in Hawaii, but first a stop at her cousin's house.

Boone is the playboy, or so everyone thinks. He's carefree, or so everyone thinks. He's a lot deeper than everyone thinks... or so he thinks.

Due to a chance encounter, Boone and Jaxi meet. Due to trials, tribulations, and twists, they end up in a relationship.

Boone is the ultimate in swoon-worthy men and Jaxi is the person who needs that the most. They have a ton thrown on them. Can they admit their feelings, make it through their personal issues, and end up with a HEA?

Wen and Stella did an excellent job with narration. They draw you in and make you want to listen to their story.

Before I start my review, it's important to note this is a college romance with college-aged adults. They have college-aged worries and thoughts. Things in this story aren't always perfect because the age group isn't always perfect. They are dealing with real thoughts and feelings.

Mackenzie is fresh out of what she thought was her happily-ever-after. Then she caught her childhood sweetheart and HEA cheating on her. Her perfectly crafted life is thrown a huge curveball. Everything that she thought was going to happen and had depended on has now crashed around her feet. Coming to terms with what was supposed to be and now isn't is very difficult for Mackenzie. She's looking for an escape. She's looking for a rebound.

Pacey recognizes the pain and hurt in Mackenzie. He's dealing with his own reality, but has different challenges to overcome. He volunteers to be her rebound.

Of course they get more than they bargained for.

Shane East is wonderful as Pacey and Emma Wilder is, as usual, spot on in her narration. The narration of My Rebound enhances the story of these two characters.

My Rebound is part of Carrie Ann Ryan's On My Own series and can be read as a standalone.

Royally Torn

I am really torn writing this review. I both read the book and listened to it. I enjoyed reading it more.

I enjoyed the story of Kannon and London together. I enjoyed how they met, how they proceed, and all the ups and downs of their relationship. I enjoyed the side characters including those who work with Kannon and London's brothers, and I look forward to the next in the series.

What I really didn't like was the narration. I thought the female voice was too mature sounding for the words she was reading and the accent she chose was difficult to listen to. The male voice was ok.

All-in-all, I think this one was much more enjoyable as a read, not as a listen.

My One Night is start of a spin- off series from Ryan's Fractured Connections series. You do NOT need to read the Fractured Connections series to understand or enjoy this series!

Dillon is probably my most anticipated storyline, and he did not disappoint. He was wonderful in his bit parts in the previous series and in My One Night we get more of his story. It's a heartbreaking one, but aren't they all?

On the surface Elise has the perfect life with the perfect family, but we all know things can't be that simple. There's always the backstory that will make you want to throttle someone and Elise's is no different.

Elise and Dillon's story begins when Elise is dared to live a little and come out of her comfort zone: a one night stand. But again, we all know what happens with just one night... it turns into something beautiful, even if there are bumps and twists and turns along the way. During their journey, they take along their roommates who you can't help but have feelings for, whether positive or negative.

Tor and Emma did a fantastic job with their narration. There are so many different characters and they did a great job of differentiating them. The characters all had distinct voices and it was easy to know who was talking.

I loved Dillon's story and while I'll never have enough of him, I am REALLY looking forward to meeting the rest of the crew in their books.

I am fortunate because I get to write this review as someone who has read the books in the series and has listened to them AND as the mom of a teenager who would rather do almost anything else than read/ listen to books. My 13-year-old who does NOT like to read, loved this series. As a mom, to find a series that entertains us both is absolute gold.

In From Shadow and Silence we reach the culmination in the battle between the Gray and his followers and those who want to save the realm. Lyric, Easton, Rhodes, and the rest of their crew try to recruit unlikely allies in their quest to save life as they know it. Something feels off and doesn't sit well... is there someone in their group who is trying to sabotage them? Who is it? Will they succeed in their mission?

This book was action packed and difficult to pause. I didn't want to put it down while I read it and I felt the same way listening to it. The only downfall was the sound quality for Holter Graham, although his performance was great. Bailey Carr was, as always, a delight to listen to.

All-in-all a fantastic way to wrap up the series.

A fake relationship... what could go wrong?

Nothing. This story is the perfect fake relationship story.

Starting with the narrators. You can't go wrong with the Teddy Hamilton/ Erin Mallon duo for this story. Their voices matched the characters and their performance enhanced the story.

Larissa has a long string of bad relationships and she's made herself a promise that she won't do it again. After running into her jerk ex-boyfriend, she has a chance meeting with Hollis. He pretends to be her boyfriend and their fake relationship blossoms from there.

Hollis is "broken," but not in a whiney "woe is me" sort of way. His character is super loveable and as his friendship with Larissa is grows, his wounds start to heal.

It was wonderfully interwoven with many of Locke's former storylines and the result is a swoony, sweet, and sometimes steamy read.

Sweet & Sorrow is like hanging out with a friend and talking about life. It's part recipes, part memoir, it's here, there, and in between. It's ups and downs. It was just what I needed.
