Historia
Infinite Stakes—picking up where Breaking Point left off—puts you both inside the cockpit as the pilots duel and at RAF headquarters with Winston Churchill on that fateful day and through the year that follows, when Britain must fight on alone. Johnnie Shaux, a battle-hardened fighter pilot, now leads a squadron of brave American volunteers against superior forces until he is forced down and imprisoned as a POW. Meanwhile, Eleanor Rand, a brilliant mathematician, is tasked to predict Hitler’s plans and to help persuade America to join the war.

Superb listen.

Loved the realism of the story. Well-narrated. I highly recommend this one. Think: Outlander (romance and all) and WW 2 documentary/fiction.

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

Best Character I've Met Since Harry Potter
Revisado: 06-12-14
If you could sum up The Martian in three words, what would they be?
Essential Sci Fi
What other book might you compare The Martian to and why?
I may compare this book to having an awesome best friend who makes you laugh and you love being around.
Have you listened to any of R. C. Bray’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes
Any additional comments?
The Martian is a story-driven book, my favorite kind of writing. The character, Watney, is what really made the book stand out to me. I found myself loving his voice, his world-view. I missed him a great deal when I completed the book. Had the impulse to go see him and hang out again. Yes, it was that bad. I completed the AudioBook over a week ago and I still feel the absence of this friend. Amazing, simply amazing.
