Historia
Joe Goldberg is no stranger to hiding bodies. In the past 10 years, this 30-something has buried four of them, collateral damage in his quest for love. Now he's heading west to Los Angeles, the city of second chances, determined to put his past behind him. In Hollywood, Joe blends in effortlessly with the other young upstarts. He eats guac, works in a bookstore, and flirts with a journalist neighbor. But while others seem fixated on their own reflections, Joe can't stop looking over his shoulder.

Acceptable
Revisado: 02-22-19
This followup diverges too much from You for it to really feel like a sequel. I know most people like a happy ending, but this was so far from the original story line that it didn't feel like the two connected. Also, Joe wasn't the same character in both books, and people don't change so drastically in such a short period of time. I think the author took too many liberties with this one.
I still give it 4 stars though. My attention was kept throughout the story and I like that the author was able to make me both hate Joe, and root for him simultaneously.

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

It's hard to follow this
Revisado: 11-12-18
I listened to this a few weeks ago, and naturally have listened to several more books since. I can honestly say, I don't know how I will get over this book. The imagery and narrative were like butter, smooth and rich. The connection you feel with the characters is not one that just goes away, and I find myself thinking about this story often. One of the best books I have ever read/listened to. I am jealous of those that still get to experience it for the first time.

Fun Listen
Revisado: 11-12-18
I thought the story was fresh and entertaining. Also, I thought the narrator did a pretty good job, seeing as she had to be 12 or so different characters. There were a few moments that were a little unbelievable, but most people understand that the power of suggestion is strong, and so it actually works in this story. Obviously it is not some incredible piece of literature, but it was an enjoyable book that was different enough to make it exciting.

I don't understand the bad reviews
Revisado: 09-15-17
Any additional comments?
I don't understand the bad reviews. There is a slight supernatural element to this book, but its not like anyone was a vampire or a witch. It's a part of the mystery and thrill. I don't usually go for supernatural genres, but this wasn't overwhelming and was kind of a fresh story. It's nice to come across a plot that hasn't been done and redone a million times. I like being surprised and this book definitely surprised me. I am glad I didn't pay attention to the bad reviews, because I really enjoyed this book. And the narrators were awesome.

Eh. Not Impressed
Revisado: 09-07-17
Any additional comments?
This is definitely not a literary masterpiece. It was entertaining at times, but mostly just irritating. The main characters are extremely dumb and passive aggressive, not to mention pathetically whiny. Also, it went on much longer than was really necessary. The only good thing about this book was the girl's best friend.

The open house is slow, but when her last visitor pulls up in a van as she’s about to leave, Annie thinks it just might be her lucky day after all.

Very well done!

This book was pretty intense from start to finish. There was a spot near the end when I thought the story should be over, but it didn't drag like some books do when they get to that "finished" point. Before you could get bored, you were sucked back into another dramatic event. I thoroughly enjoyed the suspense, and although it was cringe-worthy at times, it was well balanced.
