Disturbing and heartbreaking

Warning ‼️ Could be triggering for those who have suffered child abuse & neglect. Pure evil in a child- nurture vs. nature and can people grow out of it before they past it on to the next generation. Very good listen , highly recommend!

Anti Climactic
Revisado: 03-29-25
This book had me right until the end. Unfortunately, the end was blah and anticlimactic. Also frustrated with all the times she could have tried to escape a didn’t. Ok listen but can’t recommend due the disappointing ending.

Put me to sleep
Revisado: 03-23-25
Horribly depressing slog of an audiobook. Half way through I was going to delete it from my device but figured I keep it and play it when I want something to put me.to sleep. Even the somewhat happy ending was not redeeming. I can’t believe the all the great reviews for how horrible I thought this book was.

Historia
My life has never been better. I have a beautiful little girl, and I am engaged to be married to the man I’ve had a crush on since I can remember. So when Nick, my handsome fiancé, announces that his sister Carla is finally coming home, it’s truly the icing on the cake. That was twelve years ago, and no one has seen her since. Everyone is ecstatic about Carla’s return. But as I spend more time with her, I can't shake the feeling that something isn't right. Her behavior is a little off, her childhood memories don't align with mine, and she's oddly evasive about her lost years.

Little far fetched

More like 3.5 Stars. An entertaining story that kept me engaged. Multiple rows of “Is She, Is She Not” got a bit old. The ending was far-fetched considering the chain of events. Still a good listen.

Left me wanting part 2
Revisado: 03-15-25
Enjoyed the narrators. Couple layers of crazy from two directions. Only complaint is the story was humming around at a good clip and then the last 5-6 chapters took a huge left turn and spilled the story behind the story that came out of nowhere. Still worth a listen.

To each their own
Revisado: 03-02-25
Absolutely infuriating and sad! People who are broken beyond repair should not have children and if they have a child they abuse or neglect their right to have children should be taken away. The fact that the author wasted any time and energy on her abusive mother over herself and her family was self abuse. I’m happy she found comfort and resolution at the end but she chose a long and painful way to get there. The writing was pretty good but the story was infuriating.

AI Robots - Concerning and overall weird
Revisado: 02-19-25
Great premise for a story but was disappointed by the follow through. AI robots, what does it mean to be alive, memories and immortality, all deep concepts contemplated in this story. Scary thoughts because these are problems that will need to be addressed in the very near future with the exponential growth of AI.

Interesting but not great
Revisado: 02-13-25
Story based on a true story about a woman accused of murder and attempted murder of her children due to Munchausen Syndrome by proxy. It was interesting and engaging but took a turn once the court proceedings began. The court proceedings were less like a novel and more like regurgitated court documents. Definitely a different tone than the first half of the book. A female narrator would have been a plus. Better than a 3* but couldn’t give it 4*. A solid 3.5*
