This was not as good as the others in the series. I have a half hour left and it feels like nothing much has really happened. If I hadn't also read the Parasol Protectorate and Finishing School series I don't know if I would have finished this book. It was such a struggle to keep interested. If there is another book in the Custord series I hope it is more like the first and second.

the story starts out strong but fizzles

The story begins with two, arguably three, strong female characters. As the story progresses these strong females are diminished and acuestate to the males in the story. I say arguably three as Mrs. Wilcox has old fashioned views but seems to have adapted them of her own free will rather than being forced into them. So while I don't personally agree with the character's views I do think she is a strong character. The sisters however start out strong and independent but become more demure as the story progresses. I liked the story at the beginning and thought it had promise but was reminded, before the conclusion, of the times during which the story was created.

Interesting, but not worth the money

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
It was fun to hear Link's side of the story. But the story was really short. The majority of the audio is a preview (5 chapters) of Beautiful Chaos. So now I don't want to waste a credit on the next book since I already heard half of it.

It was cool hearing the song sung, it would be easy to get it stuck in your head!
What did you like best about this story?
There were some interesting adaptations of the creatures in the story. I like when authors break the mold of typical supernaturals.
What about Kevin T. Collins’s performance did you like?
He did a great job doing different voices for each character!
