This was a fantastic read and masterfully written! I appreciate the candor of the author’s personal journey as a Black man and how it’s so relatable to other Black men’s experiences. Thank you!

Historia
From 1915 to 1970, this exodus of almost six million people changed the face of America. Wilkerson compares this epic migration to the migrations of other peoples in history. She interviewed more than a thousand people, and gained access to new data and official records, to write this definitive and vividly dramatic account of how these American journeys unfolded, altering our cities, our country, and ourselves.

This was a well written book that focused on the conditions in the South which precipitated the Great Migration. It also provided its readers with a detailed, in-depth timeline of the Blacks’ experiences as they traveled to their destinations in the North and their life as they etched out their new freedom. Great read!
