This is the sixth book in the Black Rose Auction series. There is so much to enjoy with this audiobook that is a testament to the author’s writing style. The characters are intriguing and there is also the inclusion of a favorite newfound prince that always brings a good time. Sebastian York is one of my go to narrators so it is always a pleasure to my ears to listen to him bring characters to life. Leila Allarie is a new narrator to me, and her voice is a little pitchy. As it is a duet style, the tones at times sound disjointed but the story pulls things along. Overall, this is one spicy and emotional listen.

This is the eighth book in The Fallen Men series, and it can be listened to as a standalone. However, I recommend starting the series in order to understand the dynamics and feel the full force of this exciting series. From the beginning the listener is pulled into the story as Lee Daniels and Gregory Salinas show off their dulcet tones to bring Blue and Aaron to life…and boy does Aaron, aka Boner, enter Blue’s, aka Faith’s, life like an unexpected way. After helping her out of her situation, he takes her to the Fallen MC clubhouse and uncovers an unanticipated revelation that Blue happens to be the daughter of the rival MCs president. What’s a man to do but protect his woman! These two are simply magic together. Aaron shows what it means to respect and love a woman. Blue learns that she can do anything she sets her mind to and together there is no stopping them. There is so much goodness in this audiobook that I recommend giving it a listen.

This is the first audiobook in the Impossible Universe Trilogy, and it packs a punch. The emotion that is evoked in this story just pulls the listener down a rabbit hole because you just cannot stop listening. Sebastian left his home because he wanted to be in show business. Until hitting the big time, he was a chauffeur and luckily had a job driving for, Savannah, the wife of his favorite actor. Things get interesting when Savannah begins to take an interest in Sebastian and stumbles upon his screenplay. She takes it to her husband, Adam, along with sharing some other tidbits. The chemistry between the three main characters is HOT and full of passion. Watching them navigate this throuple was intense and was on the way to an all-encompassing love. However, life is not easy and is the bond that the three-share strong enough to stand up to the pressures they face in the outside world. For Sebastian, it was an easy answer but for Savannah and Adam…Ms. Darling has once again used her signature writing style to pen a multilayered storyline with an ending that will have any listener holding his/her breath. Overall, there is never a dull moment as the blending of emotion, steam, angst and drama is palpable. É pura perfezione! (It’s pure perfection!)
The narrators: Shane East, Desiree Ketchum and CJ Mission do an outstanding job bringing this story to life. Their voices blend seamlessly to give the listener an immersive experience that heightened the storyline. Each narrators’ performance perfectly articulated the emotions the characters go through with their own indelible style giving listeners believable/relatable characters and when all is said and done, they give listeners an amazing emotional roller coaster ride.

4.75 stars

This is the third audiobook in the Beneath the Secrets series and it is Alexei and Lara’s story. These two have not had the easiest of upbringings which has left them with feelings of inadequacy and not being good enough. Lara is a person who is there for other people regardless of how she is feeling inside. She is also dealing with some mental challenges that others will be able to relate to. Alexei has always been devoted to Lara and would do anything for her. He is the person you want in your corner because he is loyal to a fault. The narrators did a wonderful job emoting the vulnerabilities of the characters. Joe Arden once again demonstrates his versatility in crafting a character that wears his emotions on his sleeve. The intensity, rawness, and accent were truly on point. It took a moment to warm up to Angelina Rocca’s voice but then she matched Mr. Arden’s’ energy to breathe life into Lara, resulting in a powerful performance. Overall, this is one intense listen with twists, turns and spicy banter that will have your ears tingling for more.

Revisado: 11-19-24

I had the opportunity to read this book but listening to the audiobook just took it to another level. This is the third audiobook in The Satan’s Knights MC North Carolina series, and it proves that sometimes there is more to a story than meets the eye. Bianca has returned to the MC to get some information about her daughter, but her arrival is highly unwanted. Shady has always had a soft spot for Bianca but things went left when she wound up pregnant by one of his brothers. Once again, the author has penned a heart pulling tale of how something that could have been so right turned so wrong. Shady and Bianca have such chemistry and share a bond that afford them the opportunity to share and get to the truth. Sarah Puckett is one of my go to narrators as she always highlights the characters emotions to evoke a response from the listener. Michael Norman Johnson is a new narrator to me, and he showcased the personalities of the characters effortlessly. These two together make for a fantastic listen and I loved their duet. Overall, this is one audiobook to add to your listening shelf.

4.75 stars

This is a new author to me and what an introduction with this spicy audiobook that follows Teagan and her four billionaire men. Teagan is a young woman of twenty-five who has had a challenging life that has culminated in the removal of her parents from her life. Her brother is her rock so when her best friend, who happens to be her brother’s wife, implores her to participate in a charity auction, how can Teagan refuse…little did she know the turn her life would take. The relationships that develop from a seemingly innocuous auction keep the listener engaged and the narration by Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden is simply perfection. Ms. Mitchell portrays Teagan as the vulnerable yet strongminded individual she is, and the inflection of her voice is so lifelike one feels like a fly on the wall watching the scenes take place. Not to be outdone is Mr. Arden who matches his colleague’s fervor for the characters he is portraying. These two are the dynamic duo when it comes to bringing characters to life. If you enjoy a reverse harem billionaire romance, then this is one you should add to your shelf.

Revisado: 09-23-24

Where to begin with this one? It has everything from witty banter to scenes that just have you laughing until your side hurts as readers meet Alexander Bane and Magnolia Myers. Mr. Bane is that boss that you do not want to work for due to his temperament and has a gift for relieving those assistants that do not meet his expectations. Magnolia is a woman who is looking for a new job and winds up interviewing for Mr. Bane. From their initial meeting, they are like oil and water as she brings the sunshine, and he is a grumpy sour puss. However, Magnolia is not one to back down from a challenge and her work ethic is stellar. Ms. Moreland has a gift for creating her characters that are so lifelike and integrating real life situations into her storylines which pull at the heartstrings and elicit a myriad of emotions. As an ebook, it is unputdownable. As an audiobook, it is Fantastic, and I stayed up all night listening to it as soon as it dropped. John Lane and Maxine Mitchell are two of my go to narrators and they hit it out of the park as they easily morph into these characters taking them to another level. From the vocal inflections to showcasing their quirks and mannerisms, this is one audiobook that should be in your library because you will want to listen to it over and over. I highly recommend this book and audiobook.

4.7 stars

This is the second audiobook in the Beneath The Secrets series and it is an intense ride with narrators Maxine Mitchell and Sean Masters who elevate the written words to another level. Mila is a force of nature, and her emotions are captured perfectly by Ms. Mitchell as she effortlessly breathes life into the character’s emotions. Nikolai is not without his own challenges and Mr. Masters is up to the task of bringing out his feelings so well that anyone will want to spend hours listening. There were a few times the accents fell out but overall, this is one storyline that keeps the listener engaged until the end. There is a cliffhanger so be forewarned. Ms. Mason has given readers another dynamic listen that will keep one on his/her toes as he/she gets swept up in this audiobook.

This is a new author to me, but I just had to take a chance based on the blurb and it did not disappoint. The audiobook is excellent! I have listened to quite a few narrations by Joe Arden and he just encapsulates his characters to the nth degree and portraying these, what amounts to a Jekyll and Hyde personalities, he simply has outdone himself. Lee Daniels does a fantastic job portraying the female lead showing her vulnerabilities and strengths. The storyline is on the dark side with major triggers; consider this your warning to read them thoroughly and proceed with care. There is so much to unpack with the relationships between Elena and Christian and Elena and The Silencer that keep you on the edge of your seat as the audio progresses. It is broken up into three parts and you may want to take a break before continuing on because the scenes just sit with you. It is a highly emotional storyline that is unputdownable. Do not be surprised if at the end you come away with a heart that has been torn apart as it is reminiscent of a darker, enhanced version of Romeo and Juliette. Overall, the narrators captured every emotion emoted by the characters making the hours pass quickly. The author could not have chosen a more perfect pair to dually narrate this book. I cannot wait to listen to more!

Revisado: 07-02-24

This is a combined review for the book and audiobook and what can I say about it…I honestly have no words because Ms. Easton is a magician when it came to penning this story. In some ways, I was reminded of the book Inkheart, where you are pulled into the pages and feel everything that the characters are going through. The narrators are fantastic! Eric Nolan’s Irish brogue is like liquid fire that burns through one’s body keeping anyone spellbound as if they could just drift away listening to his voice forever. Elizabeth Klett is the perfect counterpoint as her voice pairs seamlessly to portray the emotions evoked by these complex characters. This book is not your typical mafia romance. It is filled with Irish folklore and vivid descriptions that keep one’s attention as the pages turn and I devoured every part. It is a heartbreaking, dark read full of drama, pain and tragedy. If you enjoy fated lovers, dark romance with some mythical elements and the beauty of Ireland thrown in for good measure, then this is one to add to your shelf. I will caution those with triggers to read the content warnings and proceed with care. I highly recommend.
