Historia
Imagine a 1980s world of sumptuous hotel rooms, restaurants, New York City penthouses, and the powerful men who move easily between these pinnacles of luxury. They are music producers, rock stars, writers, and restaurateurs. They are household names like Billy Joel, Art Garfunkel, Eric Clapton, and Sting. And yet, each man has an entire aspect to his life that he doesn’t talk about publicly—his depression, his rocky marriage, his feelings of shame and failure, his private loss of faith. And now: The phone rings. Imagine the woman who has each of these men at her beck and call.

Historia
Buckhead isn’t a place you live, it’s a place you survive. And that applies even to the wealthy housewives that have it all. Fancy cars, designer clothes, and daily salon appointments aren’t nearly enough to keep them fulfilled and happy. Because in this town, privilege and opulence go hand in hand with betrayal and revenge. Jenny, the owner of Glow, an exclusive membership-only beauty salon, knows that better than anyone, because she knows everything about these housewives—down to each individual strand of hair.

Loved it!!
Revisado: 06-05-22
This book would make a great movie. it is a intriguing story with suspense and never a boring moment. It would do very well at the movie theaters or at least make it into a movie for Amazon Prime or Netflix.

We meet our narrator hanging around the nail salon where her mother works, eavesdropping on her conversation with one of the regulars, Helen. But she’s really hoping to see Helen’s daughter, Patty - older, rebellious, and completely captivating. When Helen invites her over to their house to help organize a home office, she jumps at the opportunity. But as the day goes on, she encounters something she shouldn’t and gets caught up in the sinister nature of other people’s property and private lives.

Story lacked completion
Revisado: 02-27-21
I don't mind if a story gets to the end and let's the reader/listener/watcher come to their own conclusion how it ends. These type of stories challenge us to think through the plot and come to determine how it ends. The last 20% of this book are confusing and made it impossible to figure out the ending. I thought the story had great potential the first 80% but that last 20% ruined it. The narrator did a good job. I thought her voice was a great match for the characters. Sometimes it was a bit hard to distinguish one character from another with her voice.

Historia
Did you know that most of our dinosaur fossils were discovered because two grown men absolutely hated each other? It’s true! Rivals! Frenemies Who Changed the World is a riotous audio exclusive, like if Monty Python taught your history class. Each volume of four 30-minute histories will dig into the petty name-calling and grumbling grudges that led to many of the world’s greatest advancements, all delivered with a cheeky sense of humor. Choose sides: Cope or Marsh, the jerks who discovered so many dinosaurs; Hamilton or Burr, whose rivalry fueled American politics; and many more....

So fun to listen to and now I want to learn more
Revisado: 02-05-21
I listened to this due to the fact that I enjoy British history and wanted to learn more about Hamilton before I see the musical. The story about Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth gave me new insight into their relationship. Hamilton and Burr taught me about their relationship and now I want to read more about them before I see the musical. I listened to the Adidas and Puma story thinking it would just fill my time. What a surprise it was. it was told in such an interesting way and I really enjoyed it. I listened to the story about the dinosaur hunters last as I have little interest in that topic, but the author and storytellers, again, did a fantastic job and I found I really enjoyed it as well.

Historia
In "People in Hell Want Ice Water" - an eerie and suspenseful short story about connection, trust, and self-preservation - a random hookup amidst the COVID-19 pandemic brings two lonely people together when they need it most. Colin is an immunocompromised software engineer living alone in Los Angeles when he meets Martha on an early morning walk. She’s irreverent and mysterious, and although Colin knows better than to invite a stranger into his house, it’s been over 40 days since he’s been touched, and he can’t resist the temptation.

Good story but ending left me hanging
Revisado: 01-10-21
This was a decent story and it moved fast. I'm not a fan of the ending as I would have liked to understand what happened to the main character. It kept me thinking about this book as I was trying to figure out the ending in my own mind. I'm guessing that was the author's intent and if so he succeeded.

Fun and Easy Listening
Revisado: 01-10-21
Even though this book is geared towards young adults, I, as a 50yo women, really enjoyed it. The storyline was well written and believable. The narrators did an excellent job. Their voices really fit the characters they were portraying. I loved the extra sound effects. This made the entire story and listening experience even better.

Suspenseful from the start
Revisado: 12-31-20
Kept my attention from the start. I thought it was a great story and easy to follow. I couldn't wait to get to the end for all the pieces to be put in place and it came together perfectly. This book could have been continued for another chapter or two, but I really liked how it finished itself enough with me wanting more and being able to draw my own conclusions as to how the story might continue. I thought the book was very satisfying from beginning to end. It was narrated by one person and she did a fairly good job changing her voice up for the 3 main characters and the 9 supporting characters.
