Unsatisfying Ending
Revisado: 10-23-24
The narration was great, was enjoying the storyline. I was waiting for that final twist, but it definitely landed flat for me.

Not fast paced in any way, but calming and enlightening. Your travels with Otto and Rinpoche continue to be a delight you don’t want to end. If this retreat center really existed, I would be packing my bags.

Historia
Julia Cameron has transformed the creative lives of millions, showing them that creativity is their uniquely human birthright. But long before the tools of The Artist’s Way changed the conversation around creativity, Julia developed and used them in her own life. Floor Sample is the story behind an artistic life—detailing Julia's years in New York, her time as a writer for Rolling Stone, her turbulent marriage to Martin Scorsese, and her painful struggle with alcohol, which ultimately led her to recovery and the methods that would form the backbone of The Artist’s Way.

Overly long, repetitive and self-absorbed
Revisado: 12-19-23
Having loved the artist way, I thought it would be interesting to listen to Julia Cameron’s ‘s life. I am still two hours from the end, but I have to say that I am finding the story to portray her as completely self-absorbed. It is overly long and repetitive with her going through every single thing she has done, repeating dozens of times how she she was obsessed with her writing and detailed dozens of scenes that all turned into a blur.. It became dizzying with all of her moves and flying around the world, again portrayed in great detail for every move. it showed her to always put herself first, while not taking into consideration those she reports to love. I will finish it because I’ve gone this far, but I’m sorry I chose it.

Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

What a warm and beautiful tale! I loved all the characters, especially Marcellus. While I have seen people say the ending was predictable, it was the journey of wanting to see it unfold. That was what made it fun.
