Amazing listen!

Initially when i read the summary of this book I didn't think I would like it. It wasn't until I listened to a sample that I felt compelled to add it my library and I was not disappointed. The author captured my attention from the get go with her touching and heart wrenching story and the narration was absolutely outstanding. I not only listened to it once but twice as I wanted to go back and really appreciate each and every word again. I've listened to 100s of books and this one is definitely on the top of my list.

Wonderful story and storytelling

It is difficult for me to say which I loved best, the story or Tom Hank's narration but I could not stop listening and frankly would listen all over again and likely will. It is interesting how we let an incident or decision color our lives negatively without fully understanding the reasons behind them. This is a book that will bring on a range of emotions and for me made me relook at my own reactions to situations and relationships with more patience and kindness. Highly recommend and Tom Hanks is the icing on the cake!

It was interesting gaining a perspective of the experience of the surrendering of child for adoption. As an adoptee myself it helped me understand my own birth mothers’ potential challenges when she was faced with this decision. Good listen.

Worth the credit!

What a beautiful story based on a factual event. As an adoptee myself it touched me to the core.

The author did her research and kept my interest from the first chapter to the author's notes.

I look forward for listening to other books by this author.

Very hard to follow

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Just not a good story for audible.

Would you ever listen to anything by W. Bruce Cameron again?

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Just didn't care for his voice.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

not really. I understand the movie is wonderful.

Worth the listening on so many levels

I can't begin to explain how this book impacted my awareness of our differences. I always prided myself in being aware yet now I know I hadn't even touched the surface.

This book was so well researched, written and read. You actually "felt" each of the characters and their stories. The topic is uncomfortable but so needs to be shared and understood.

Please take time to listen you will not be disappointed!

This was an amazing book from start to finish. One worth listening to over and over. I could totally empathize with many of the author's challenges. I only wish that I had listened to this book years ago but better late than never!

Another good listen from this author

Liked the story however the narration made me crazy specifically the children and older characters. I almost stopped listening as I couldn't bear to hear Hanna and Alyssa's voice like fingernails on a chalkboard.
