The title of this book might be why you should say no.
Revisado: 01-28-21
I love Gemma Bray. I found her through a decluttering group and found her cleaning style refreshing and useful, 30 minutes and done. Of course it’s a little more complicated than that, but it started working for me. I learned about Gemma’s Christmas TOTT and used it and it was brilliant no more clamoring around not knowing what will happen no one else running my life for me at Christmas time. So when I learned she had a new book I went for it. I did follow the steps in her book and am now following them. Yesterday was my first day implementing all the steps and I was smiling at the end of the day with my hair done and makeup on when dinner slipped away from me because I had to “stomp out a fire” from my Girl Scout Troop it was ok Because the rest of the day had gone so well I didn’t stress dinner having to be take out. I love listening to Gemma because she always has a good story and seems to always have my back. Overall I gave it a 4 because it definitely has a specific audience, but if you fall into the audience of woman/mom this book might be for you. If you are a man/father feeling stressed and can get to the true message then this book might be helpful to you as well.

Some good stuff in there, I said SOME.
Revisado: 04-16-18
LIKE - Mix in SOME scripture, SOME science, and SOME MORE Indian philosophy, and listen while I prove to you that all triangles are equilateral using Euclidean geometry. Most mathematics can do it convincingly if you don’t look too skeptically at the “curved” straight lines they draw. Buy the big premise up front and the rest flows SO logically. I am trying to envision who the proper target audience would be. Not evolutionists with claims of randomly forming the first living cell using the limited (10 to the 81st power) particles of the known Universe as the source material to randomly chain together just one of the essential proteins in the first living cell. To their credit, they can ignore forming a black hole from waste material accumulated from the associated random mistakes, I’count them out as targets for a conscious universe. Maybe ... not them either. That leaves the Beatles; they sought a guru! If you like sitar, cross your legs on the carpet, and listen to another story with as much going for it as the Big Bang story; at least it starts prior. If there is not one already, this could be a new religion.

Time travel curiosity
Revisado: 02-22-18
This book seems more like a short story. Not enough flesh on the later chapters for me. I did enjoy the story but wanted more side plot or character development. The main actor never looks inside his device with the curiosity of a physicist. The ending is about as speedy as the Bible is between the fall from Eden to the murder of Abel (a few sentences). Just saying that a few more details would be revealing and interesting. It seems like the publicist read the first few developmental chapters, paid an advance, and had little patience to wait for the finished product.

Pretty interesting book.
Revisado: 12-09-17
The author wrote and read this book. He is a good writer but less capable reader. His words were slurred together too much and he sounded a little bit feeble. His words were not so flowery to bring attention to the words over the thoughts he delivered effectively. He had a bone to pick with Robert Moses and his lack of care for those affected by his projects (displaced), of which were many. His treatment of LBJ however was too ‘one-sided’. The book was not effective in delivering on the title theme; just too short. Still, I enjoyed the little there was and would listen to another of his efforts narrated by a better speaker and reader.

Historia
Reporter Sam Kean reveals the periodic table as it’s never been seen before. Not only is it one of man's crowning scientific achievements, it's also a treasure trove of stories of passion, adventure, betrayal, and obsession. The infectious tales and astounding details in The Disappearing Spoon follow carbon, neon, silicon, and gold as they play out their parts in human history, finance, mythology, war, the arts, poison, and the lives of the (frequently) mad scientists who discovered them.

Was quite enjoyable
Revisado: 10-19-17
Entertaining and informative; hard to do for a text book. This is a book that teaches with intriguing little pearls thrown in. You will probably enjoy it even if the subject matter is quite familiar to you. I was expanded and will listen again for more treasures. Facts is facts, but the historical background and human factors help make it live and involve your imagination. Highly recommended! Worth so much more to me than other text books on the same realm of information. Usually I would rate a book overall as an average of the performance and the story. In this case, you might think it is ignorance on my part to diverge from that obvious standard, but it is precisely the story part that makes a text book outstanding. If you listen, you may find out why I departed from the usual; or not.

I enjoyed the story. The reader did a very good job. I agree with one reviewer about the weird science on occasion. The author really should revise the part about the oxygen burning. Some material deserves to be added about the big NASA rabbit. Seemed like a whole chapter got edited out!

Historia
An activist attorney is killed in a cute little L.A. trolley called Angels Flight, far from Harry Bosch's Hollywood turf. But the case is so explosive - and the dead man's enemies inside the L.A.P.D. are so numerous - that it falls to Harry to solve it. Now the streets are superheating. Harry's year-old Vegas marriage is unraveling. And the hunt for a killer is leading Harry to another high-profile L.A. murder case, one where every cop had a motive. The question is, did any have the guts?

Thouroughly enjoyable. Not quite as good as Enders Game, but captivating.
Revisado: 03-19-17
The ending seemed inevitable once we find out where it's headed, but involved some genius that you grow to expect through the development of the story. It must have been fun to write. The Science fiction takes a monstrous leap with AI capturing a person's entire memory. Through in full consciousness that has access to that memory and let the game begin in a distopian future.

Too Short
Revisado: 08-06-16
The author did a very good job reading his own story, I was disappointed that it was too short. His story was fascinating buried am sure that he could add more about his future research plans or cite others whose research inspires him. Other than that, I would recommend this book to anyone. My wife enjoyed it too.
