Great Resource for Golf Students

I’ve been trying to learn golf for about a year, and I have the goal of breaking 90 this fall and hopefully eventually breaking 80. There are a number of excellent golf books out there, and this one from Michael Leonard is really great. The narration by the author himself is quite good, and there are bonus materials in the audiobook, including podcast segments from the author. I’m about to listen to the whole thing a second time. I highly recommend it to any amateur golfers wanting to improve their game.

If you’re looking for a high level perspective on how to approach the game of golf and improve your overall experience and enjoyment of the game, then this book is a great resource. The author does not delve into the detailed mechanics of the golf swing, but rather serves as a mentor with good advice on how to take the ups and downs of the golf-learning experience. There is high-level advice on the most important aspects and how you should allocate your time. The chapters are well organized and presented in a crisp and concise manner. The author’s narration is clear and engaging.

As an angel investor and budding venture capitalist, I found this book to be are full of valuable and interesting information about The most important topics relevant to starting and growing a business, especially where is the founder wants to grow the business to be valued at hundreds of millions to more than $1 billion. The audio performance by the main and secondary narrators is also quite good. I would definitely recommend this book to friends.

Audio quality is very poor

The quality of the audio in this production is extremely poor, making it very difficult to listen to. I’m only a few minutes in but I’m beginning to doubt that I’ll be able to listen to the whole thing. The storyline seems fascinating but the audio almost sounds like a computer reading the text. At the very least, it’s very unprofessionally done.

Exploring ancient mysteries

Fascinating exploration of unsolved mysteries of mankind’s earliest civilizations. The author does an excellent performance with the narration. The only negative is the lack of additional materials in the form of drawings depicting some of the more abstract and hard to visualize topics, such as precession of the equinox and alignment with stars, and the organization of pyramids in Egypt and their alignment.

Great audiobook

I am a moderately experienced angel investor and a heavy consumer of audiobooks on various topics, but mostly history, science and investing. I look for good content and high-quality performance. This book by Jason Calacanis is one of the best audiobooks I’ve had the pleasure of listening to. Mr. Calacanis has an excellent voice and seems to be a naturally good speaker. The book is also chock-full of useful and interesting information.

Compelling description of one Ranger's experience

I'm a heavy consumer of audio books. I enjoy books on history, science, and the occasional piece of fiction. With a son beginning his military career, I've also purchased a number of memoir type books about the military's special operations forces, including Rangers, SEALs, etc.

A Night in the Pech Valley by Grant McGarry is among the best audio books I've listened to. I found the author's story to be an interesting and realistic account of life in the regiment, including what it takes, mentally and physically, for a young man to successfully complete the journey from RASP (aka RIP) through training and deployment. The level of detail strikes a perfect balance: enough detail to paint a realistic of what the author experienced but without boring or unnecessary minutiae. This is the audio version of a 'page turner'.

Finally, the narrator is very good, with a strong, clear voice that avoids the monotone that can ruin a good story.

Prof. Cook is a brilliant lecturer. One of the best I've ever had the pleasure to experience. The story behind Machiavelli was very interesting.
