Historia
First celebrated for her voice, she became one of the most talked-about women in the world, whether for music and fashion, her relationship struggles, or as a walking blonde joke. But now, instead of being talked about, Jessica is doing the talking. Her audiobook shares the wisdom and inspirations she’s learned and shows the real woman behind all the pop-culture clichés. Open Book is an opportunity to laugh and cry with a close friend, one that will inspire you to live your best, most authentic life, now that she is finally living hers.

Honest and Raw
Revisado: 03-12-21
I was looking for a memoir to listen to while I painted my daughter’s bedroom. I love hearing people’s stories. I chose this one, because it was one of the few memoirs with five stars. It deserves each one. What an honest and raw story of her life. She tells it all, her flaws, mistakes, her secrets, the things she’s learned and all of her amazing success, too. She’s incredible. I love her now more than ever. What a precious soul. Thank you for sharing so much with us.

Historia
At the age of five, Megan Phelps-Roper began protesting homosexuality and other alleged vices alongside fellow members of the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas. Founded by her grandfather and consisting almost entirely of her extended family, the tiny group would gain worldwide notoriety for its pickets at military funerals and celebrations of death and tragedy.

Raw and honest
Revisado: 02-13-21
A raw, honest and riveting story of Megan’s life. I grew up in a Baptist church, too. It wasn’t exactly like Megan’s. We didn’t picket and the torture wasn’t geared towards anyone outside of the church. But the members, we were tortured most definitely. From age 13-18 was the worst. I was tortured, shunned, forced to dye my hair dark brown to match my eyebrows (despite God creating me with blonde hair). I was homeschooled. I wore skirts and tops two sizes too big in efforts to hide body parts that showed I was a girl. I ended up going to a Bible college with those same beliefs. I could go on an on. My story is so much different than Megan’s life, yet so similar. I loved reading her story.
