I paid for this book so I will give an unbiased review. It was boring. 15 hours of struggling to get through it. I fell asleep so many times I couldn’t even begin to count. And then some action the last 15 minutes that abruptly ends with a cliffhanger. I’m done with these money grabbing series.

That’s was time to stop with this series

Tried to stick with it. But couldn’t finish book 4. The story is full of monotonous repeating statements over and over and over. And when I looked ahead and saw there were 6 more (at least) it was time to dump this. The story had potential but it is an obvious ruse to exploit a lot of money for a story that could have been told in one book. I’m quite mad at myself for buying any of these. Does audible have a return policy for utter garbage?

epic disappointment

Loved the first 2 book in this series, however this book was just another way to re-tell the previous books and rake in money from the fanbase- it is chapter after chapter after chapter of Sera saying the same things over and over and over..... oh, and when there is 3 1/2 hours or so left in the audiobook get ready for some ridiculous non-stop smut- seriously ridiculous smut. If there are 2 hours of new pertinent storyline in there I will be amazed- had a hard time staying focused with this one. Maybe someday I will try to listen again and figure it out LOL. or use it as a sleep aid which is more likely.

Couldn’t finish it

I tried to- but couldn’t finish it. Finally gave up halfway- I think the main plot is that eventually the female lead is going to have sex with 4 men who are a lower class and have big c****. Seriously bad writing and the female narration is not fun to listen too.

Struggled with this one- it felt disjointed to me and I kept losing interest which led to rewinding to try to figure out what was going on. This has never happened to me on a BDB book.

Narrative change

Bummed with the narrative change for Casteel - completely different from the Casteel we have been following (not against Tim Campbell)

Story is okay - it didn't draw me in like the previous books - I will have to listen to it again to try to 'get in' to it - but that's what happens when character voices for over half the book are different - I lose track. This time I wish I would have just read the book.

bummed with the dual narrative

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It was a bit of a let down for me. I tend to lose interest when narrative changes occur to 'established' characters in an existing series. I just can't follow who is saying what from the 'Adam perspective'.

What didn’t you like about Lorelei King’s performance?

Lorelei's performance was fantastic, as always, its the new male narrator that threw it off for me - It's so hard to try to distinguish between the characters that Lorelei created from the beginning - and now they are totally different. I am not saying he is a bad narrator - he just doesn't fit the characters that Lorelei established in the 9 previous books.

Very disappointed to put it mildly

Wow. I am so disapointed I don't even know where to begin. I honestly wish I could have my money back. I have loved every other installment in the Sookie series, inconsistencies and all... until now.

This time, the errors are absolutely ridiculous. The author doesn't know her own characters and I am just amazed these books are not proofed prior to publication. The humor that I always enjoyed was no where to be found - not a single chuckle in this one. The book is a completely disjointed, brutally violent, hack job and I just feel like it was just thrown to the fans of the series to get money. Half of the book was spent retelling old storylines and the other half, oh well, no spoilers from me,....

So, don't waste your money like I did. Try to get it from your local library, or start looking for used copies. One thing about it - I don't have that 'just can't wait' for the next book feeling. I may be cured of my Sookie addiction.
