Historia
Sidney Crosby is ready to tell his story in his own words. As one of the greatest NHL players of all time, he reflects on his 2005-06 rookie season with the Pittsburgh Penguins. From a Canadian phenom dubbed “the next Gretzky” to an 18-year-old carrying the burden of a struggling franchise, he talks candidly about the intense pressure he was under, the surreal experience of lacing up alongside his childhood idol Mario Lemieux and the truth about his rivalry with Alex Ovechkin.

Great story told by those who were there!
Revisado: 04-29-24
Found this thoroughly enjoyable because the story is told by those who were there as participants, supporting cast, and spectators. Loved reliving the beginning of Sid‘s career!
Provided a new perspective and an inside view. Hope there is a companion audible book with highlights and the conclusion of his career and admission into the Hall of Fame someday.

Historia
Writer for the New York Times and GQ, Mark Adams is also the acclaimed author of Mr. America. In this fascinating travelogue, Adams follows in the controversial footsteps of Hiram Bingham III, who’s been both lionized and vilified for his discovery of the famed Lost City in 1911—but which reputation is justified?

A great way to learn about Machu Picchu with the interwoven stories of Bingham and Adams retracing the former’s steps. Excellent with deep details and perspectives.

Historia
For four aging men in the terror-stricken town of Milburn, New York, an act inadvertently carried out in their youth has come back to haunt them. Now they are about to learn what happens to those who believe they can bury the past - and get away with murder. Peter Straub's classic best seller is a work of "superb horror" ( Washington Post Book World) that, like any good ghost story, stands the test of time - and conjures our darkest fears and nightmares.

Wonderfully complex and disturbing
Revisado: 01-31-24
An amazing story that weaves through time building on central characters and pulling in threads along the way. Creepy and unsettling but also so much more.
. A true work of art. No wonder Stephen King recommended it.

Historia
George V. Higgins's seminal crime novel is a down-and-dirty tale of thieves, mobsters, and cops on the mean streets of Boston. When small-time gunrunner Eddie Coyle is convicted on a felony, he's looking at three years in the pen—that is, unless he sells out one of his big-fish clients to the DA. But which of the many hoods, gunmen, and executioners whom he calls his friends should he send up the river? Told almost entirely in crackling dialogue by a vivid cast of lowlifes and detectives, The Friends of Eddie Coyle is one of the greatest crime novels ever written.

Fantastic Dialogue
Revisado: 01-19-24
A story told you almost exclusively with dialog. Entertaining and suspenseful. Word a listen, great performance.
