it's good
Revisado: 10-24-23
so far so good. nothing earth shattering, but I'm about to finish it after starting yesterday and I have been entertained. as long as you don't expect greatness, you will be satisfied with the good that this book is. or you could re listen to the book three times and then write a rambling and pathetic review saying how much the book sucked . . . after listening to it 3 times.

Historia
On a little-known planet, Archmage Varic Vallenar casts a grand spell to empower himself with the magical abilities of his alternate selves. The ritual works too well, granting Varic not only the magic but also the memories from six lives. Including their gruesome deaths. Now, Varic has power greater than any wizard in galactic history, but he knows that won’t be enough. The enemies he faced in those alternate lives were apocalyptic in scale. Terrors of technology and magic. Nothing that he, or anyone, can defeat.

it's good
Revisado: 04-16-22
This is a very solid book. it you have enjoyed this authors other works there's a good chance you'll enjoy this one. to everyone complaining about the abrupt ending, stop it. It is not even that abrupt of an ending. plus this is book one, everything isn't going to be wrapped up perfectly at the end of book one, be patient and wait for book two good grief. second for those complaining about the length, not every author can pump out 1000 page epics, there are plenty if books in the 8 to 10 hour range. the Cradle series by Will Wright has a good chunk of the books around that range and that series is fantastic.
so get this book and help support a good author

it's really good. some big revelations and continual build up to the final book.
a suggestion for the title of the last book. The Rise of Dross, Reaper of joy, Bain of Happy Endings, Insulter of The Kind and Elderly, and Crusher of Infinity.

loved it
Revisado: 02-03-21
I really liked this story. it was a tad confusing to follow at first but once I got a little further into the book. it made sense. the way it brought it all together at the end was really well done. I hope the next book can be on audio, as I really dont like reading but may have to make an exception.

More Political But Still Great
Revisado: 01-19-21
There is a definite Conservative, some may say right wing, lean to this book. In my opinion it didnt distract from the story, which was awesome, and overall did not bother me. if your of the more liberal leaning you may find the political view espoused in this book a bit much, but as long as you can accept it's just the opinion of the authors you should still enjoy it.

Historia
Gus is a henchman separated from his friends at his new job, a henchman on an orbiting space base. He's happy with the gig, and has no real delusions of grandeur. Well...small delusions, but he’s seen all too often what happens to minions that get too uppity around their supervillain bosses. His father had pulled a few strings and landed him a henchman position in hopes he could make something of himself. Before he's barely gotten used to the job, Gus narrowly escapes the base's destruction and is chucked at the planet below.

a good listen
Revisado: 11-24-20
it's an easy book to get into. sure there are a few plot points that seem off. yes it's almost exclusively focused on the mc, seriously if you like a story with multiple fleshed out characters, this book may not before you. future books in the series may have more characters but this one is skimpy on em. however it still a fun listen and I'm looking forward to future installments

Historia
When a freak accident ruins his body and his memory, Wes Malcolm loses his scholarship and his place in the world. Every treatment has failed, save one: a fully immersive VR game, designed by his late, disgraced father, that mimics the condition his body used to possess. To everyone's disbelief, his body and mind slowly improve, bit by bit, but it's still not enough. Then one night, he wakes up in a world just like the game his father designed. Here, he can grow, learn, and thrive.

Awsome
Revisado: 11-09-20
I am a bit startled at the vicious nature of some of the negative reviews. certainly not everyone will love this book, but it is an interesting story that deals with some heavy issues but still mixes in moments of I'll say cheesiness that cleanses the palate of the heavy moments and prevents one from drowning in depression over the struggle of the MC.
I recommend checking it out for yourself. also if you like the book the author has a FB group called armies of Avalon
