Fun and quirky mystery

Once again, Elizabeth Sims has delivered an enjoyable mystery that keeps readers guessing from beginning to end. I found myself on more than one occasion surprised by the twists and turns of "Tight Race." Plus, what's not to love about a protagonist who plays the mandolin, has a pet rabbit named Tommy, and drives a "Crown Vic." "Tight Race" has lots to offer readers including mystery, humor, romance and the subtle undertones of our crazy mixed-up politics and human quirkiness. I especially enjoyed Lillian's visit to the Quad-State Macrame Association Meeting disguised as Linda Cooksey. The writing is excellent. Elizabeth Sims is up there among the best authors who can bring readers squarely into the story and keep them there. Case in point is her description of Alice Hall. I had a vivid picture of her in my mind that left me agreeing with Lillian, that's one "cool kid." This is a great series that I highly recommend.

The Best of Jericho

Another page turner in the Jericho series. Ann McMan combines her wit and stellar writing skills to tell us a difficult story that all at once rattles and uplifts the reader. Christine Williams brings the characters to life with her superb narration. I look forward to the next installment in this wonderful series with characters that are hard to let go of after the last page is turned, or word is spoken.

A twisty mystery with a super loveable heroine

I really enjoyed this first book in the series. Can’t wait to listen to the rest. The mystery has lots of twists and turns; and Lillian Byrd is that imperfect, yet perfect underdog heroine I love to root for. The narrator did an excellent job of capturing exactly how I’d expect Lillian to sound. The story is crisp and unpredictable. In addition to the story being a really great mystery, I laughed out loud lots. I highly recommend this series.

Brilliant and Funny

After finishing the audiobook version of Ann McMan's Jericho, I could not wait to listen to Aftermath. What made listening to these two books especially fun was listening to them with my spouse during trips in the car. We laughed and thoroughly enjoyed them together. The characters are funny and loveable. Jericho and its zany inhabitants kept us riveted from beginning to end. The dialogue is superb, the writing crisp and the story great fun. The narrator, Christine Williams, brought the characters to life. Five stars and two thumbs up for Jericho and Aftermath.

Good story and excellent narration

I enjoyed the story. But, the plot was average and predictable. However, the narrator did a fantastic job of kicking up the book in a way that held my interest. I would recommend this book if you're looking for a good, although predictable lesbian fiction story. Again, the narration was excellent.

A Laugh Out Loud Joy Ride

I thoroughly enjoyed reading "Hoosier Daddy" when it first came out as a paperback. I wondered if an audio version would be like a movie based on a book which is rarely as good as the book. The answer is that the audio version of "Hoosier Daddy" is every bit as good as the book. Christine Williams brought the characters to life in her excellent narration of the story. It truly is a laugh-out-loud fun experience to listen to this book. I highly recommend the audio version of "Hoosier Daddy."
