Aún no tengo el libro físico, pero ya empecé a despertar muchísimos recuerdos, y me entusiasma iniciar esta nueva aventura de ponerlos en papel. Gracias.

Historia
Over the past twenty years, Melissa Etheridge has been blessed with success, love, joy, contentment, freedom, and release. She became a mother again, recorded eleven albums, toured the world, performed at the Grammy Awards, won an Oscar, discovered her one true love, and underwent a profound spiritual awakening. She also experienced illness, incomparable loss, heartache, guilt, shame, and devastating grief. Yet through it all, Melissa found the strength and courage to carry on. Talking to My Angels is a profoundly honest look into her inner life as a woman, an artist, a mother, and a survivor.

Beautiful and intimate
Revisado: 10-18-24
This audiobook felt like sitting around a campifire, with Melissa sharing her stories and then singing and telling me about the song. It was such a delight 🫶🏼

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Historia
Gadsby grew up as the youngest of five children in Tasmania, where homosexuality was illegal until 1997. After moving to mainland Australia and receiving a degree in art history, they found themselves adrift, working itinerant jobs and enduring years of isolation punctuated by homophobic and sexual violence. When Gadsby was twenty-seven, a friend encouraged them to enter a stand-up competition. They won, and so began their career in comedy.

So glad I got the audiobook version!
Revisado: 10-25-23
It’s been a while since a book genuinely captivated me this much. I enjoyed listening to it, from start to finish. Hannah is so funny narrating it, but also so honest and open with such personal things. I personally loved Nanette, and this audiobook made me want to watch it again, with a whole new perspective and insight.

Historia
We all follow our own path in life. At least, that's what we're told. In reality, many of us either do what is expected of us, or follow the invisible but well-worn paths that lead to what is culturally acceptable. For some, those paths are fine - even great. But they leave some of us feeling disconnected from ourselves and what we really want. When that discomfort finally outweighs the fear of trying something new, we're ready to opt out.

I wish my rating were higher
Revisado: 07-19-23
I really enjoyed The Year of Less, and so I guess my expectations for this book were high. Sadly, I don’t think this book gave any radically new insight or surprising information that wasn’t either covered in the previous book or just obvious. I didn’t love the hiking metaphors and the overall giving me advice. I wish it had been more of a personal account where the reader can choose what to take for their own lives, instead of being told what to do. I’m sorry :(

Historia
Fumio Sasaki is not an enlightened minimalism expert or organizing guru like Marie Kondo - he's just a regular guy who was stressed out and constantly comparing himself to others, until one day he decided to change his life by saying goodbye to everything he didn't absolutely need. The effects were remarkable: Sasaki gained true freedom, new focus, and a real sense of gratitude for everything around him.

A satisfying listen
Revisado: 06-17-23
Besides the usefulness of the content itself, I find listening to this audiobook to be very satisfying. I have listened to various parts several times and enjoy thinking about the minimalist lifestyle that I hope to achieve, without feeling pressured, judged or inadequate.
