Historia
Called in to investigate, DCI Evan Warlow’s team are faced with finding out how and why the body of a struck-off doctor ended up on a lonely beach within sight of Laugharne’s famous boathouse. But this is no innocent victim. This is a man with more enemies than friends. A fact that muddies the waters no end as Warlow unearths more and more of the dead man’s sordid history. Not to mention a long line of suspects.

Good story
Revisado: 01-28-25
Another well written story, but the slow, staccato narration is akin to that of a computer. Almost didn’t finish this one; hopeful the next ones go back to the original narrator.

Great story line with equally great narration. So good I downloaded the next one in the series before I’d even finished this one.

Just meh
Revisado: 03-11-23
Started decent, but there was minimal character development and the vocabulary throughout the book was limited; it read like a quintessential YA and was predictable.
The protagonist’s inner dialogue of not-good-enoughness droned on for way too long/too many times which made it really hard to side with her.

Narration was great and the overall story was entertaining it did get a little slow in spots and I at times had a hard time keeping up with who was who. Again, overall definitely worth the listen.

Historia

But when a woman is pulled from the Mississippi River, barely alive, things in the office take a personal turn. I think the headline says it all. Great story and narration; definitely recommend this one, especially if you like any of his Joe Talbert stories.

The story might've been good, but it was so over-narrated that I couldn't get past the first few chapters. Maybe I'll try the old fashioned version of this one instead.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Snarky & real
Revisado: 10-28-17
Great book! Heavy with sarcasm, dark humor, and sentence-enhancers (foul language), its real and relatable. I've listened to it at least 3 times because I get something different out of it every time. Love this book!
