Historia
For the past thousand years, the dragon Vakandi has watched the people of Vakfored grow from a wandering band of refugees to a glorious city of art and magic. Under his protection, the city has survived monsters, floods, and wars all without building an army, dam, or even a wall. But time changes everything and now the citizens of his beloved city want him dead.

The story is short, but packed with interesting events. It doesn't overstay its welcome, and the tale grows darker and more serious each step of the way. I found the main narrator, the dragon, to be a relatable character, and the overall story a fresh take on dragon and mortal coexistence. The ending is bittersweet, but leaves hope for the future, for the flow of time and the circle of life to mend what has been broken and give it a new life.

The story is relatively short and is definitely meant for kids, but it paints an interesting world and even has a puzzle for you to solve, so it is a worthwhile read!

Yet another engaging gryphon tale!
Revisado: 10-21-24
Continuing on straight from where the previous book ended, this part delves into the origins of gryphons and how it still affects the latest sapient species on Earth. In parallel, the story of Thyra's ascension into the gryphonball league unfolds along with many challenges and new friendships.
All-in-all, I found this tale to be exciting and fresh. I am not even a sports fan and yet I enjoyed those bits immensely, along with the side plots. I can't wait to see how the tale will continue in Book 3, which I should begin reading soon! :)
