It began in Ireland in the mid 1700s. The water in Ireland, indeed throughout Europe, was famously undrinkable, and the gin and whiskey that took its place devastated civil society. It was a disease ridden, starvation-plagued, alcoholic age, and Christians like Arthur Guinness—as well as monks and even evangelical churches—brewed beer that provided a healthier alternative to the poisonous waters and liquors of the times. This is where the Guinness tale began.

Not only do I drink it and enjoy it. Now I know the history behind it would make it even more enjoyable.
Whether you buy the book or listen to it on audible, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed very inspiring and challenging … The The Guinness‘s were men !

My oldest son told me about these books. I listened to them back to back during the Christmas holidays 2022. Well worth the listen, you get to look past your own opinions. You haven’t been there, I know I wasn’t and what I’ve learned is priceless. Damn I’m 65, I still get to fight through.
