Made a complex issue - depression sound like it is something that can easily dealt with.

It is good to read that there were so many parts of the history of the south that it was not black and white (no pun intended), but many shades of grey that existed. Just like now it is only in what we believe in our minds no matter how irrational we see others. maybe reading learning about the struggles of others - we can finally learn - we are all the same

no, a bit to long to sit and listen to all at once - besides when listening to history one needs to take time to digest the ramifications of past acts on what happened after -

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I read this book as a required reading, now re-reading 40+ years latter I wish I had the insight to read and feel the pain. This book will teach if not understanding of the difficulties of having health issues of the unseeing kind at least it can teach compassions for those who suffer from these illness'.
