Historia
In the years leading up to the election of Donald Trump, Congressman Adam Schiff had already been sounding the alarm over the resurgence of autocracy around the world, and the threat this posed to the United States. But as he led the probe into Donald Trump’s abuses of presidential power, Schiff came to the terrible conclusion that the principal threat to American democracy now came from within. In Midnight in Washington, Schiff argues that the Trump presidency has so weakened our institutions and compromised the Republican Party that the peril will last for years.

Easy listening & interesting--like peeking in
Revisado: 12-18-21
Adam Schiff is a wonderful storyteller. Interesting details and insight into this pivotal moments in our country's history. At times you feel like a fly on the wall. At other times, you feel like a close confidant of Mr. Schiff, as he shares his thoughts, humor and concerns. He makes the convoluted scandals that led to the impeachments of Trump and the impeachments and trials themselves not only understandable but entertaining. Great personal POV from a front row seat.

Historia
This book is for heroes. Dustoff 7-3 tells the true story of four unlikely heroes in the rugged mountains of Afghanistan, where medics are forced to descend on wires to reach the wounded and helicopter pilots must fight wind, weather, and enemy fire to pluck casualties from some of the world's most difficult combat arenas. Complete opposites thrown together, cut off, and outnumbered, Chief Warrant Officer Erik Sabiston and his flight crew answered the call in a race against time, not to take lives - but to save them.

Gripping, action packed storytelling
Revisado: 03-10-19
I've always been impressed by the sacrifices and humility of most service men and women I've met. I work with Army rotor pilots on the backend of their service careers. Most are extremely professional and capable yet remarkably humble. I met the author before reading this book, it is true of him. It's so hard to imagine the pressure, challenges and sacrifices that our service folks face on repeated deployments throughout their careers. This book is a gripping and eye opening snapshot. It is full of action packed accounts of combat situations and daring rescues but it's the accounts of humanity and loving kindness that stands out to me. The author even sprinkles two tastefully told love stories in to the pages. Erik is a great story teller and a remarkable person. This book is a great read.
