Historia
When Adam and Amelia Wright win a weekend away to Scotland, it might be just what their marriage needs. Self-confessed workaholic and screenwriter Adam Wright has lived with face blindness his whole life. He can’t recognize friends or family, or even his own wife. Each year Adam’s wife writes him a letter that she never lets him read. Until now. They both know this weekend will make or break their marriage, but they didn’t randomly win this trip. One of them is lying, and someone doesn’t want them to live happily ever after.

Alice Feeney never disappoints
Revisado: 10-26-21
Audiobook review- I’m not usually a huge fan of more than one narrator, but since it’s a small cast of characters, it works perfectly.
Story review- Shes genuinely become one of my favorite authors with her use of unreliable narrators. Some suspense writers will use really cheap “twists” in the story to throw the reader off at the very end and in hindsight there were zero clues leading up to it. Alice leaves little bread crumbs and connects the dots at the end which really shows a well thought out story. And makes for a fun second read when you can spot all the clues. Can’t wait for the next book!

Historia
Four decades after it first shook the nation, then the world, William Peter Blatty's thrilling masterwork of faith and demonic possession returns in an even more powerful form. Raw and profane, shocking and blood-chilling, it remains a modern parable of good and evil and perhaps the most terrifying novel ever written.

Actually chilling
Revisado: 09-01-21
I’m a huge horror fan, so it’s hard to find books that are truly terrifying. I’ve seen the movie a few times over the years and figured it would be interesting to listen to the book. The performance was outstanding. This is definitely on the top of my list

Historia
Part memoir, part guidebook, and part social history, For Small Creatures Such as We is the first book from the daughter of Carl Sagan and Ann Druyan - a luminous exploration of Earth's marvels that require no faith in order to be believed. As Sagan shares these rituals, For Small Creatures Such as We becomes a moving tribute to a father, a newborn daughter, a marriage, and the natural world - a celebration of life itself, and the power of our families and beliefs to bring us together.

Such a heart warming book for those questioning faith or left it entirely
Revisado: 05-17-21
She has such a poetic and beautiful view of the world. She emphasizes that questioning the world around you is how we grow. That saying “I don’t know” isn’t negative, but door to exploration and knowledge.
I think my favorite (and somewhat the point of the book) is that rituals are natural to us. They’re how we mark the seasons, and celebrate the events/people that we love. Religion doesnt have a claim on customs and rituals. Its simply a group coming together to share appreciation for life. Which I think many atheists miss about religion.
I genuinely wish I had this book years ago when I started questioning my faith. It wouldn’t have made it so daunting and scary.
My ONE gripe is that I wish someone else narrated. She doesn’t have a bad voice. It’s just her pronunciation is a bit slurred that had me questioning what she said occasionally. But it definitely didn’t prevent me from listening to every word!

solid story from Goldin
Revisado: 08-09-20
solid 4/5.. wasn't as suspenseful as the escape room (in my opinion), but her descriptive writing makes you really feel for the characters and what they're going through. it was pretty painful at times. Goldin is definitely becoming one of my favorite authors.

Historia
It began on New Year’s Eve. The sickness came on suddenly, and spread quickly. The fear spread even faster. Within weeks, everything people counted on began to fail them. The electrical grid sputtered; law and government collapsed - and more than half of the world’s population was decimated. Where there had been order, there was now chaos. And as the power of science and technology receded, magick rose up in its place.

The story has zero depth
Revisado: 11-11-19
I’m baffled how this story has such good reviews. The author follows way too many people to add depth to any of them in order to care for the characters. And for a Post-apocalyptic world, everyone seems to have everything they need and everyone with the correct profession to utilize those supplies. What a miraculous safe haven!

loved the story, the voice, not so much
Revisado: 10-22-19
I'm glad the story was something I really enjoyed, but they really need a voice actor with a wider range. She made all the men sound the same which made things a little confusing and hard to follow in some cases.

Historia
Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word. Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety.

Voiced very well, and it was suspenseful all the way until the end. I was very disappointed to see there were no other books available from this author!
