Pleasantly surprise!
Revisado: 10-04-23
I wasn't going to download this, but the reviews kind of won me over period. It was very well done, the music wasn't intrusive, and all the other sounds fit the narrative. I agree with what everyone is saying, this should be an Amazon Original, like "Survival of the Thickest".

All Damali Richards ever wanted to do was create music and bring it to the people. Now she is a Spoken Word artist and the top act for Warriors of Light Records. But come nightfall, she hunts vampires and demons - predators that people tend to dismiss as myth or fantasy. But Damali and her Guardian team cannot afford such delusions, especially now, when a group of rogue vampires have been killing the artists of Warriors of Light and their rival, Blood Music.

Where Do I Start
Revisado: 06-29-18
Okay so, I'm 30 minutes in, and I'm cringing. I've read this entire series twice, in all formats but audio, and I'm shooketh!! This narrator butchered the Urban rhythm of our verbiage. The flow to this lyrical series was murdered, may it Rest In Peace. I'm going to finish this book and the one after but know that my heart is broken... L A Bank's work deserved better narration and treatment.

Luved This!!
Revisado: 02-08-18
What made the experience of listening to We're Going to Need More Wine the most enjoyable?
It was about one of my favorite actresses. She kept it down to earth and relatable.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The author of course.
What about Gabrielle Union’s performance did you like?
I believe that no one can tell your story better than you can. She made the story real for me.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, it was but sleep and work interfered.
Any additional comments?
This book was everything she described it to be. She is someone I can relate to on so many levels. Great job all around.

Not what I thought
Revisado: 02-06-18
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would definitely recommend this book, as a first jump, into the "somewhat" paranormal experience. I was expecting a full on Summoning of Souls. This is more a vague feeling, about a person's inclinations. I didn't bond with the characters as I would with my favorite authors but overall a decent read.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
I would change the way the main character sees the people in her environment. Since there aren't any soul summoning going on, either start summoning souls or change the title. Maybe state that you can feel a person's tendencies and you see the evil that's hidden within their soul
Which scene was your favorite?
The scene that stood out for me was when she was captured.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No
Any additional comments?
none
