Historia
After the Great War, British men and women grappled with their ignorance about sexuality and desire. Seeking advice and information from doctors, magazines, and each other, they wrote tens of thousands of letters about themselves as sexual subjects. In these letters, they disclosed their uncertainties, their behaviors, and the role of sexuality in their lives. Their fascinating narratives tell how people sought to unleash their imaginations and fashion new identities.

Time well spent

A well written book that covers various subjects, some of which I wasn’t aware of, mainly how the influence of the wars that confronted Britain during that time period played a role in the sexual identities of its people.
Certain chapters made me feel uncomfortable due to the explicit details that I won’t mention here, suffice to say that it’s not my cup of tea.
The performance by Miss Eastland was excellent and professional.
I can’t say that I would recommend this book as it has its own niche and would appeal to a selective audience. Infotainment it is not, but to someone who is looking in as a outsider with an open mind will find it well worth the purchase.

She's poor and naïve. They're rich and dangerous. At once a painful coming-of-age novel, an exciting amateur sleuth tale, and an intriguing narrative involving social issues (immigration and wealth disparity), Money Matters has mystery at its core. This emotionally charged debut novel is firmly embedded in Los Angeles culture over the 2010 mid-term election.

A two dimensional storyline that lacks depth, with equally shallow characters. A plot that pogoed without any real cohesion.

Some truths can do more harm than good. This is what Isa comes to believe at the tender age of nine, when she first has a dream about kissing a girl - an act that would never be acceptable to her family. By her late 20s, Isa has left her hometown in South Texas, so that her conservative family won't discover that she’s gay, and immersed herself in the workaholic routine of law school.

I enjoyed the storyline in reference to the Latin culture, having lived abroad in Latin America for a number of years.
I was reminded of the cultural diffusion’s...though I must say that the tragedies of life all speak the same language.
A clear thumbs up!
