Historia
So much of our belief can be formulaic. We often think that if we do A, B, and C, then God will do X, Y, and Z. We check things off the “Good Christian Checklist,” trusting we’ll be okay, and our trials will be minimal. But when our experiences inevitably deviate from that belief, our trust in God often crumbles. After a series of life-altering trials—including a devastating diagnosis—uncovering faith in the cracks of pain is something Kristen LaValley knows well.

I like how the writer was vulnerable to expose her truths. She allowed the readers to know that we all have challenges which will forever change

The detail of the book was really good
Revisado: 08-23-24
This book was a great book. Though it focused so much on the crime, jail, and addiction of a very short time frame. It would have been great to have back history on the addiction. There was only one part that even gave a glimpse that the writer had tried rehab in the past. How long was her addiction, and did she struggle her whole life with her addiction. There’s just a lot of missing peace’s that would give a good insight to how long the struggle with addiction was and more to this story.

OCD with Alegra
Revisado: 05-07-24
I love this podcast, the issues that are brought to the surface are life events people normally do not want to talk about. I experienced OCD thoughts after having my child at 20 years old. I remember being so frightened of my thoughts after bringing my new born home, one day I sat outside my doctor’s office in my car and wouldn’t leave until he saw me. I am now 53 years old and two of my three children suffer with OCD thoughts. One child refuses medication and my other child takes meds and has a therapist. As a mother, I always feared that one of my children would suffer with compulsive thoughts, but having two children has been so heart breaking as I know their internal mental struggle. I have shared this podcast with both my children. Thank you for sharing WE CAN DO HARD THINGS.

Historia
Casey and her little sister, Christine, started off with what looked like a good beginning. But looks can be deceiving. Their mother, Eve Whitney, a stunning Hollywood beauty, didn't much care for children. Their father, Eddie Maxwell, was a successful songwriter and gag man; he was a brilliant, handsome, hugely charismatic man, but he had a secret drug habit that sent him careening between warm and loving parent one day, to hair-trigger monster the next.

Incredible resilience
Revisado: 02-25-24
What a journey! Being born in the 70s I can understand how biased people can be, but hearing the author’s experience with the school system, social services, and community is absolutely shocking. Thank you for being vulnerable enough to share your story. So incredible to see from where you started to where you are today. Loved your book. Thank you.

Historia
Natalie Queiroz was eight months pregnant when she was stabbed by her partner in the most vicious attack imaginable. In the space of nine minutes, and in broad daylight, Natalie was stabbed 24 times with a carving knife. She suffered horrific wounds to her lungs, liver, stomach and uterus, whilst the knife missed her baby by a margin of two millimetres, before the arteries in her wrists were methodically severed by the attacker she finally realised was her partner. After heroic intervention by passers-by and police, the attack was brought to an end, but her ordeal was not over.
