I loved the women in the book, especially Ada and Sam. Sam's just a few years older than me, and I too wish my mom had broken free from her place at the kitchen sink sooner. Mostly, i enjoyed listening to connie Schultz's women, and men, because C.S. is my favorite woman on Twitter, and everytime i listened, i felt like i was doing something positive for myself!

Set in the London of the 1660s and of the early 21st century, The Weight of Ink is the interwoven tale of two women of remarkable intellect: Ester Velasquez, an emigrant from Amsterdam who is permitted to scribe for a blind rabbi, just before the plague hits the city, and Helen Watt, an ailing historian with a love of Jewish history. As the novel opens, Helen has been summoned by a former student to view a cache of 17th-century Jewish documents newly discovered in his home during a renovation.

fascinating tale(s)
Revisado: 04-07-19
This book will stay with me for a long time. It's a long book (I listened at 1.2-1.3%), but I never felt it dragged. I was rooting for both Helen and Esther, and Aaron to a lesser extent. I was fascinated by life in the 1600s. I had been apprehensive about spending so much time there- I'm glad I did!

Deep in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains sits a mansion, its image reflected perfectly on the still water of Flat Lake. Inside that estate are the savagely murdered bodies of a wealthy elderly couple. All evidence points to Jonathan - their mentally handicapped twenty-eight-year-old grandson - but Matt Fielder, his appointed defense lawyer, isn't convinced.

great narration and an interesting story. warning- if you listen to this to try to take your mind off the Supreme Court, there is a character with the same last name as our last "justice" and described as a friend of the NRA and very conservative . it's a good book, but not the refuge I was hoping for.
