Even John Le Carre wouldn't have been able to write such a magnificent book, indeed. Macintyre explore both the human nature and the inner soul of a strong friendship between unknown némesis...except that one of'em knew the alpha and omega of the true behind such friendship....a charade charged with the harsh reality of cold war with the outcome of thousand under threat. A magnificent book. A strong reminder that real life is stranger and far more complex than the best fiction...meaning John Le Carre's Tinker, Taylor, Soldier, Spy in which that author put the frustration of a whole generation of british and american spies. A book well written and marvelously read....

A man who went into the cold

As an anti Le Carre's heroe, Kim Philby betrayed both the British and the American espionage's apparatus causing death and mayhem. A clear memory of how a personal resentment and ego can condemn millons to the claws of the ravenous masterminds that dwelt the communist's nightmare. An excellent audiobook.

flabbergasting book full of amazing data

if you can define a book of amazing and opened-eye, "Chariots of the Gods" is the one. just being able to corralate the fact of having an isolated island (the easter island) with mega monuments in an insular territory populated for just 2.000 inhabitants, never had enough trees to make transportation reliable enough to transport the giant structures , makes this book a jewelle.

A thoroughly account of the life of a super spy

A flabbergasting tour de Force of a soviet super spy well hidden in an english countryside woman. Mother, worker, lover....spy. A magnificent account of the cold war sought through the eyes of an incredible woman, born as a product of WWII. Well written and marvelous read by an excellent voice. Truly recommended audiobook indeed.

an outstanding account of a genial mind

From the cloisters of a public School to the once secret place called Bletchley Park , a mathematician named Alan Turing break an impregnable nazi code, shortened WWII an in the process created what we all know is a machine named computer. This is a marvellous book. spellbinding, impossible to set aside until the very end of the narration. Flabbergasting audiobook !!!
