This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

Wonderfully written, perfect performance
Revisado: 07-16-17
I really enjoyed the style in which this book has been written. The story flows so smoothly it was really easy to tune into it. The story itself is interesting and the magic system is really cool. Love the characters and the way the book gave me constant mixed feelings about them. It was hard to put down because I was always on the edge waiting for the disaster that I already know will happen but don't know WHEN XD
The narrator is excellent, it was a real treat to listen to this book :)
Overall a great book! I'm getting the rest of the series, and would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys the magic fantasy genre.

When Lenina and Bernard visit a savage reservation, we experience how Utopia can destroy humanity. Cloning, feel-good drugs, anti-aging programs, and total social control through politics, programming, and media: has Aldous Huxley accurately predicted our future? With a storyteller's genius, he weaves these ethical controversies in a compelling narrative that dawns in the year 632 A.F. (After Ford, the deity). When Lenina and Bernard visit a savage reservation, we experience how Utopia can destroy humanity.

Epic and immersive
Revisado: 12-02-16
I love how long these books are - it makes the experience more immersive and it feels like everything is happening in real time which, for me, makes the buildup that much more effective and the characters more intimate :)
The Stormlight Archive is the first series I've read from Sanderson and I've already bought his other books because I now trust him with my time - this series is brilliantly written.
Also, check out his college lectures on writing, I found them on YouTube, great background noise ;D
The narrators are absolutely perfect for this series, they do an exceptional job bringing the story to life.
I'm really thankful I've found this series, it's an epic journey. Waiting for book 3!!

The guy sang all the songs and I could tell he loved it. Very passionate storytelling voice, will keep you tuned. Throughout the entire book he kept professionally changing his voice to make each character unique and recognizable. I especially enjoyed his Tom Bombadil, Sam, and Gandalf. Really happy about this recording :)

Outstanding Performance!
Revisado: 02-18-13
The performance makes the trial come to life!
I have been assigned to read Plato's "Apology" for my Philosophy 101 class, and got this audiobook to make it easier. Definitely recommend!
The way the work is read makes it seem as if you were actually a member of the jury at the time and place of Socrates' trial. They even put some echo in there to make it seem more real- a really neat touch.
A good amount of context is given at the beginning and end of each section, making it much easier to understand what is going on and why is it being executed the way it is.
There are several sections to this audiobook- context information, "The Apology", and other works that go with it including the account of Socrates' actual death.
This work of literature is a classic. Thought provocative, supremely rhetorical, definitely something to reflect and learn from.

Religion is central to the lives of millions of people around the globe. But how did the great religions begin, and what do their followers believe? Religions of the World tells the remarkable story of some of the faiths which have helped to shape the way we live today. Aimed at younger listeners, it introduces the history and scriptures, beliefs and customs of some of humanity’s most enduring religious traditions, and looks at their place in the lives of men, women and children across the world.

Good Intro Info!
Revisado: 02-18-13
This is a great listen for people who are interested in the broad topic - types of religions and some background. Each "major" religion is presented with some data- how many people follow it, dates, origin, distribution, etc. Then a little context is given- practices are mentioned, some excerpts from the religion's scripture, their main holidays, fun facts.
The book is neatly organized into sections, information is presented in an objective manner- pure information, no opinions, minimal bias.
Overall the information is kept at an introductory level which makes this a really easy listen- that is why it is described as "for younger listeners" but it is definitely NOT "dumbed down" and anybody looking for an overview of the major religions of the world should find this listen helpful :)

Hard to put down :)
Revisado: 02-18-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Definitely for people who like hero-development type of books.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Ender's Game?
Really liked the switches to different characters. One favorite moment was when the narrative switched to what was happening back on Earth to Valentine and Peter- the author did an awesome job at making Peter appear rather...scary.
What does Stefan Rudnicki and Harlan Ellison bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The performance by these guys is marvelous! They really bring this story to life. They put a lot of emotion into the reading. Especially like when they read the teachers' lines- they sound very authentic.
A woman reads the parts where the point of view shifts into the mind of the girl, Valentine, and that is a really neat experience.
They put out a really unique performance.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Great book to marathon through.
