excellent sequel to an amazing series

the author managed to write a sequel that fills in the world without dragging down. All of the characters are given appropriate time to grow and develop further in ways that feel right for them. It sets up a grander story that I can not wait to see what the author does with.

excellent and entertaining narration where each character maintains their own voice throughout.

exciting and funny but misplaced narrator

right off the bat if you can make it through a narrator who tries his best but is the wrong fit this is a fun listen. the story itself is excellent as are the characters and their development. I will be buying this book in print and hoping a sequel comes soon.

the narrator just isn't right for this. he makes the main character sound like a shrill frantic old man and puts extremely overdone vibrato on everything he says or does dragging out words like a radio shock jock which once your ear catches it is impossible to drop.

try and get past that and enjoy a wonderful new story and world

a cozy fantasy masterpiece

the story takes place around the very human and enjoyable main characters. you want to cheer with their achievements and find out what happens next. the narrator did an excellent job giving each character their own personality helped by the great writing. perfect mix of farming Sim mixed with old school kung fu action. looking forward to what happens next.

another great addition to the MHI world

it is wonderful how the two authors filled in another piece of the world and history bringing in new names and mentioning old ones. I hope to hear more like this of the expansion of the company and the difficulties it faces.

Every character felt unique and fleshed out I have a few new favorites and both authors really shined here.

I laughed and spent time anxious for what came next the plot won't disappoint. an excellent read!

not the best example of lovecraftian horror

hard to listen to. the creator seems to think most people speak in stutters and uses it often. If they're not stuttering they're whining and whimpering.

the Foley work is way overdone. Everyone walks with wooden shoes and in an attempt to portray the horror of the situation they'll rely on repeated noises or glutteral noises that end up just being annoying.

The story itself isn't terrible but you have to dig to get to it.

This story delivers on all counts. rich world, strong characters, great baddies, and a lasting impression.

exciting look in to a new world

Gritty pulp detective goodness. The world building in this short story has me wanting and hoping for more! Strong characters and a tight on point plot. Very much enjoyed it and recommend. Think Borderlands meets Mass Effect with a splash of The Expanse for good measure and you're there.
