Like the other reviews the ending is horrible. I should have read all the reviews before spending 20 credits just to find out the same evil king returns and all the main characters are either dead or missing or incapacitated.
No way this is 4.6 stars.

Not what I expected

The first book started out great and really left me wanting more. I expected it to pick back up in the second book, but it stopped. War ended, that's it? There was a lot more to build on, but it shifted to something completely different. I was so disappointed, I didn't finish the second book. My fault, I assumed the story continued to build and didn't read the summary.

I could not finish

Not sure if it's the narrator or the story, but I had to stop the pain. I know authors work hard, but this seemed everywhere and no where at once. I was forcing myself to listen because I spent the credit. Finally I gave up.

I have listened to just over 300 books now and this is the 3rd time I've given a rating below 3 stars. I followed this series since the beginning and I can't believe it ended this way. I have complained to Audibal for a refund. It just stops. So he works up from the bottom to owner, his love is murdered and he stops? That's it? Seriously? Did the author get bored? Maybe lost funding? I have never felt cheated after listening to a book until now. I learned to look at the last book in series reviews before starting a new series. I also think some of the reviews are padded.

Great start, then fail

After the first book I thought the second would get going and answer some questions, instead we have a 2nd AI who is crazy and no answers. it's like the writer doesn't know the answers or where to go from here. This is where I end the series.

ANOTHER GOOD STORY RUINED

The story seemed to drag along with little action and the never ending politics. The story had a good base that never took off. Almost as if the writer was running out of ideas and needed to fill pages.

So close, but in the end it's the same old story.

The hero wins, but as with every other story he loses his special powers. he can no longer cast his special spell. He has a castle that he can no longer control. His vault is full, but he can't get in along with his special armory. so he's broke with a broken castle and no food. He's another Harry Potter. Just once I'd like to see an author break the mold.

Nothing is solved, could have been stand alone not part of a series. Disappointed.
