Historia
On an island off the coast of Ireland, guests gather to celebrate two people joining their lives together as one. The groom: handsome and charming, a rising television star. The bride: smart and ambitious, a magazine publisher. It’s a wedding for a magazine or for a celebrity: the designer dress, the remote location, the luxe party favors, the boutique whiskey. The cell phone service may be spotty and the waves may be rough, but every detail has been expertly planned and will be expertly executed.

A Juevenile Attempt at Agatha Christie
Revisado: 11-08-20
The majority of the characters were so utterly despicable that you just wish they would all die at the end of the book. The jarring timeline exists to cover up the fact that the plot is entirely unoriginal, uninspired, and ultimately unsatisfying. I would challenge anyone who read the book and gave a positive review to show me one clever thing that happened in the book or a single lesson that any of the characters learned in the process. Everyone enters the book deeply flawed and they leave just as flawed albeit a lot more miserable.

Historia
They say you shouldn't ask your mom whether your business is a good idea, because she loves you and will lie to you. This is technically true, but it misses the point. You shouldn't ask anyone if your business is a good idea. It's a bad question, and everyone will lie to you at least a little. As a matter of fact, it's not their responsibility to tell you the truth. It's your responsibility to find it, and it's worth doing right.

Little, fantastic gem with actionable advice
Revisado: 03-29-20
This book was recommended by a mentor after describing a funnel I invented and it was such a delight to read. Rob has a very casual way of narrating the book which is exactly the tone he suggests you adopt in your interviews. The book itself is a really tight production with some very effective tools that are very easy to remember.

Awesome book!
Revisado: 11-06-16
This book is full of fascinating examples of how to apply computer science theory to real life. You could listen to it a dozen times and still harvest new ideas. I really appreciate the compassionate tone the authors ended the book in.

Frat House Fueled Hyperbole - Anemic Delivery
Revisado: 05-07-13
This book was full of anecdotes and hype designed to whip you up into a frenzy but after listening to over half the book, I had no idea how to hack my hormones, do a single better lift or anything useful for that matter.
Apparently a 'real world guide' means a ton of stupid bro talk and allusions to how much sex you should be having. I gave up after half the book and feeling like the big reveal was just around the corner only to be replaced by another useless anecdote.
It should be called Infomarketing: Engineering an Unreal Guide. Next!

Quite Entertaining!
Revisado: 02-18-13
I thought this book was quite entertaining. A few observations...
1. The lack of relationships was criticized but in the context of a 'ghost man' I thought this was appropriate. The main character was ruthlessly pragmatic and ultimately unencumbered by emotional attachments.
2. There were similarities between Jack Reacher which was a plus since I am a huge fan of Lee Child. Just more of a good thing.
3. For me, personally, there were plenty of moments in the book where I was pleasantly surprised at the way the way the scenes played out. It was slick and clever.
So all in all, a solid freshman effort that I would recommend to anyone.

Historia
In Amped, people are implanted with a device that makes them capable of superhuman feats. The powerful technology has profound consequences for society, and soon a set of laws is passed that restricts the abilities - and rights - of "amplified" humans. On the day that the Supreme Court passes the first of these laws, 29-year-old Owen Gray joins the ranks of a new persecuted underclass known as "amps." Owen is forced to go on the run, desperate to reach an outpost in Oklahoma where, it is rumored, a group of the most enhanced amps may be about to change the world - or destroy it.

A really clever book all the way to the end.
Revisado: 07-02-12
The book started out a little slow and I felt like I was required to be a little long suffering with the main character but the resolution was well worth it. I felt like the last twenty minutes of the book made it all worth while.
The plot was clever and the characters were quite interesting. A really great read!
