Historia
To all appearances, Dan Chase is a harmless retiree in Vermont with two big mutts and a grown daughter he keeps in touch with by phone. But most 60-year-old widowers don't have multiple driver's licenses, savings stockpiled in banks across the country, and a bugout kit with two Beretta Nanos stashed in the spare bedroom closet. Most have not spent decades on the run.

Very engaging read

After listening to 100's of books and truly enjoying most, I finally have to write a review...short as it may be. Wow! Loved it!

Historia
Determined to overcome a difficult past, Erica Hathaway learns early on how to make it on her own. Days after her college graduation, she finds herself face to face with a panel of investors who will make or break her fledgling startup. The only thing she didn't prepare for was going weak in the knees over an arrogant and gorgeous investor who's seemingly determined to derail her presentation.

Disappointing.

I could see when I first viewed this book, that it was supposed to be a "love story"...but it is just a horny, lust story. I'm half way through the book and pretty sure I won't be able to make it to the end. Main character is a fly off the handle bitch. Can't imagine a billionaire falling for her at first sight.

Historia
Mike Wingate, abandoned by his father at four and raised in foster care, is finally living the life he always dreamed of - he's happily married with a precocious 8-year-old daughter, and his construction company is about to finish a "green" housing development that will secure a solid future for them all. But then something from his own past, a past he doesn't even remember, comes back to visit terror upon him and his family.

Hard to put down.

I usually read a small cluster of writers. Glad I moved out of the small circle and purchased this book. Found myself so engrossed in this book that I sometime had to sit for a few minutes and figure out where I was when I stopped listening.

Historia
Hysterical! Ten years ago, Uproar took the explicit-lyrics, grown-up version of this classic performance off the market in favor of the edited "clean" version. Now, on the 10-year anniversary of that decision, we are happy to bring it back. Enjoy!

Laugh Out Loud
Revisado: 08-08-13
If you could sum up Show Me the Buffet in three words, what would they be?
Funny, funny, funny!
What did you like best about this story?
Years ago, I could actually afford to go to the good buffets in Las Vegas....Every time I listen to this book, I think of how much I enjoyed that time.
Which character – as performed by the narrator – was your favorite?
John Pinette obviously plays himself in this story and he does it so well. Incredibly enjoyable if you happen to have a similar appetite for buffets.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
This book amused me so much, that I deliberately did not listen to it in one sitting. I'm not sure if I have even finished it because I keep going back to different segments each time I start to listen, again.
Any additional comments?
Just loved it!!

Historia
Dear Reader,You’ve probably heard that my wife has left me. Rachel’s pregnant, and she says she can’t handle the stress in our household anymore. My 13-year-old daughter, Jolene, is jealous of her. Maybe it’s my fault. As a widower I spoiled her - Jolene was reading over my shoulder just now and says that’s not true. She claims Rachel ruined everything. But that’s not true. The real question is: How can I get my wife back? I don’t even know where she is. She’s not with Teri Polgar or any of her other friends from the salon.

Disappointed
Revisado: 08-08-13
What would have made 1105 Yakima Street better?
I felt, early on, there were too many characters. Maybe this is because I didn't start with the first book in the Cedar Cove series. I started with this one. The pretty cover picture pulled me in. At times, I felt like the writing seemed almost childlike. I could envision a high school senior typing away. I had a difficult time with most of the characters and their complaisant personalities. No one seemed to have any strength at all......everyone walks away from adversity and hopes it will all work out.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Probably going back to mystery...Lee Child or James Patterson.....even better, Michael Connelly.
Would you be willing to try another one of Sandra Burr’s performances?
I felt her performance was probably decent for what she had to work with.
Any additional comments?
This is one of the first books I actually want to trade in....get a refund. Was glad to see that might be possible. I have 4 more chapters to go. I kept hoping the writing was going to get more interesting. Too late, now.
