Historia
The world watches the sky with trepidation. The insanity of Xenocide knew no bounds, and all will soon suffer the effects he had planned for a millennium. Though none know what is to come, they all know it isn't going to be easy to survive. The Master has a plan, one that can give the world at large a way to escape the onrushing desolation. It may be on the bleeding edge of morality and what he needs might prove too difficult to secure, but the Master asks for trust. Cal and Dale both have their role to play as the world hurtles toward destruction.

At 22, she's still slinging coffee at an Amazon Cafe despite having a degree in programming. It's not because she's unlucky, unmotivated, or even that she fancies herself an underground activist crusading against evil corporations. Hunting for a real job would take time away from her game. Axillon99 is the world's most popular multiplayer online experience, with a universe containing billions of planets to explore. Ever since video games broke the screen barrier, plunging players fully into their characters, reality just can't compete.

More believable than Ready Player One
Revisado: 03-01-19
Axillon99 is more of a believable than the wildly popular "Ready Player One" title with similar themes. Its lacking the nostalgia that seems to be a bigger selling point, but has a more believable story for me. The book does end a little abruptly, with not as much wrap up the sap up as I typically want from my books, but does have a concrete ending that gives readers the answers that most of us want when finishing up a book. The characters (other than perhaps the main) are not strongly written in the beginning of the book, and I fell as if you don't get a strong sense of who they are until a bit latter on. All and all, an enjoyable read, if not with an amazing payout at the end. Good for a board Saturday afternoon on the couch.

My Favorite Series! Must Read! -see warning
Revisado: 01-29-19
I didn't know what I was getting myself into when I started this book...
I purchased copies of book one (Amazon) and gave them out as X-mas gifts this year just to spread the love. The characters are my favorite part. So relatable and believable, especially for anyone who has played old Dungeons and Dragons. Those jerks could so be the people I see every Friday night. You see the progression of each one of them. The female character writing is a bit shallow on the surface I will say, but each character is distinct, well rounded, rich in personality and with understandable motivations. My favorite believe it or not is Dave!
I love the performer they got to do the reading, he does an excellent job, particularly considering the need for non-human voices like Orc, Dwarf, Elf and even Minotaur... Also Bevan is good at getting the books out quick. I think he does at least one a year minimum.
I would highly recommend starting at the beginning with this series. Be prepared for a long haul if you are planing on getting into this series. The current book that just came out it six, and I do believe he is planing on making this a twenty book series. The companion series (mini-stories actually) is well worth reading as well!!!
The content of these books, and my own conscience, compels me to put out a warning however.
THIS BOOK IS NOT FOR CHILDREN OR ANYONE OFFEND-ABLE. Not EASILY OFFENDED, if you are capable of taking offense to ANYTHING you will find it joked about in at least one of these books. You have been warned!
If you are at all unable to enjoy fart jokes, uncomfortable with the subjects of bodily fluids (ALL of them), are offended by jokes with subjects including LGBT community members (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender), Substance abuse (Alcoholism, Drug Addiction, etc), Racism (against everyone), Sexism or Sexuality (including Castration, Abortion, Rape, etc), Excessive Profanity... I'm positive I'm forgetting some of the subjects but you get the idea.
If you are at ALL sensitive, do not read, these books are not for you.
If you have a relaxed sense of yourself and can joke about the world and everyone in it as I can, You will LOVE these books...
Though I do admit these are not great American novels that will go down in the history books as famous, amazing, life changing literature. These books (in my opinion) are the deep-fried butter of books... the JUNK-FOOD category of reading... but not the dollar candy from the liquor store junk, the triple layer fudge cake you have been dreaming of kinda junk... You know that there is NO nutritional value in them... you know later you might hate yourself for being a glutton and consuming the entire thing in one sitting... they are just empty carbs and fat... but once in awhile you just gotta have it!

This is currently my favorite series. I purchased a few copies of book one (got them printed off Amazon) and gave them out as X-mas gifts this year just to spread the love. The progression is good, story engaging, I am waiting on the edge of my seat for the next one!!! Bevan is good at getting the books out quick however. I think he does at leas one a year minimum. Audio book fans be warned that it takes a couple months before it hits Audible after the book release.
I would highly recommend starting at the beginning with this series. You do not want to miss anything from this set as it all ties together beautifully. Be prepared for a long haul if you are planing on getting into this series however. The current book that just came out it six, and I do believe he is planing on making this a twenty book series. A continuation of a GREAT D&D adventure!
Revisado: 01-29-19
I have to admit right off that I am a big Drew Hayes fan-girl.
These books, honestly everything he writes is fantastic. He has a way of turning the typical tropes of any setting on their head and makes you rethink what you though you knew about being a nerd, gamer, geek, dweeb, whatever. Being a lover of fantasy for decades now, and devouring so many creations from that setting, its fantastic to see a new perspective, or old perspectives made new and different.
His characters are always believable, relatable and engaging. You can actually see some character set in their old ways while their fellows progress and grow. The story is rich and wonderful. The reader does a good job on this series as well, pacing, voices, timing, all good.
I would highly recommend any Hayes novel

Anita has never seen Damian, her vampire servant, in such a state. The rising sun doesn't usher in the peaceful death that he desperately needs. Instead, he's being bombarded with violent nightmares and blood sweats. And now, with Damian at his most vulnerable, Anita needs him the most. The vampire who created him, who subjected him to centuries of torture, might be losing control, allowing rogue vampires to run wild and break one of their kind's few strict taboos.

5 / 4 / 3 Star (per part) Good Book; a Lot of BDSM
Revisado: 01-29-19
The first third of the book is great, by far my favorite. The first third of the book is FIVE STARS for me. The other two thirds are okay, but the first story is definitely engaging and addictive. Near the end of the first part the book gets a bit heavy on the bondage & submission, and later becomes heavier with Sadomasochism.
I am a bit more negative than this book probably deserves for the second two thirds of it. BDSM is just not my personal favorite type of erotic fantasy. The performer does a good job reading it and the tone and mood are very well paced.
Definitely worth a listen! or read. I'll be listening through the first part again sometime soon.
