Historia
No one at Meetpoint Station had ever seen a creature like the Outsider. Naked-hided, blunt toothed and blunt-fingered, Tully was the sole surviving member of his company -- a communicative, spacefaring species hitherto unknown -- and he was a prisoner of his discoverer/captors the sadistic, treacherous kif, until his escape onto the hani ship The Pride of Chanur.

love this series. love the reader.
Revisado: 10-21-17
cherryh's writing style was a little hard to read at first. once I got used to it, I finished this entire series and have read a short story collection of here. the reader brought new depth to the characters and world. I highly recommend the chanur saga if you enjoy sci-fi and well developed races who are meeting humanity for the first time.

Historia
Lyra is rushing to the cold, far North, where witch clans and armored bears rule. North, where the Gobblers take the children they steal—including her friend Roger. North, where her fearsome uncle Asriel is trying to build a bridge to a parallel world. Can one small girl make a difference in such great and terrible endeavors? This is Lyra: a savage, a schemer, a liar, and as fierce and true a champion as Roger or Asriel could want. But what Lyra doesn't know is that to help one of them will be to betray the other.

Good story, okay reading
Revisado: 10-21-17
my only issue with this audio book is the difference in volume from the narrator and the characters. narrator is very quiet while character voices are loud and often yelling about something. as a night listener, this is very off-putting. I enjoy the story, but won't be investing in the rest of the books due to this.

no emotion
Revisado: 07-17-17
I love this book. I love the version read by George guidall. but this one actually made me regret the purchase. I was hoping it would be as good as the neverwhere full cast production, but alas no. the actors lacked emotion in their reading. where there was any emotion it wasn't appropriate to the scene. most of the characters were flat, even the narrator.

Good and bad.
Revisado: 03-19-17
I know that this is a young adult sorry set in the Pern world but I can't help feeling like it's more dumbed down than it needs to be. I remember the "first" Pern novels being good and also enjoying them when I was in the young adult age category (I was 15) and can't help feeling this is intended to an even younger audience than that. The narration would be better if the reader didn't always around like she was smiling about something. Her voice is nice to listen to (I listen while falling asleep), but there are places in the story where I feel her tone and inflection are wrong for the situation. Overall I still like it, but buy it on sale.

What's with the com?
Revisado: 04-03-15
I love the Chanur Saga and except for the change made in this one where you hear people over com differently than in person I loves the voice actor too. the "static" where the translator doesn't work right is jarring. otherwise great.
