Historia
The wickedest, most wonderful science fiction story ever created in our - or any - time. Anything can begin at a party in California - and everything does in this bold masterwork by a grand master of science fiction. When four supremely sensual and unspeakably cerebral humans - two male, two female - find themselves under attack from aliens who want their awesome quantum breakthrough, they take to the skies - and zoom into the cosmos on a rocket roller-coaster ride of adventure, danger, ecstasy, and peril.

22 hours of bickering and manipulation
Revisado: 05-27-21
If you want to listen to 4 people argue for 22 hours about naval command etiquette this is your book. In between the lengthy discussions on the finer points of who’s in charge are minuscule bits of a meandering story that never really goes anywhere, but even when you get to the story bits the language is so abstract and the names, nicknames, second names and third names are so confusing and unexplained that it all turns into background noise.
I am rarely compelled to write reviews but if I can save one persons money and time please don’t listen to this book.

Historia
Humans are fighting a war against alien invaders that spans thousands of millennia. Many generations have been preparing for such an epic conquest, though there are times when the stories of old have been lost, forgotten, or ignored. Those that come into the power to defend the planet, whether they have the prior knowledge of their role or not, all have one thing in common: The ability to infiltrate the enemy’s ranks and crush them from the inside. With powers that they may or may not know that they have, humans will have to fight for their right not to be a luxury food item....

Was a great premise but missed the mark
Revisado: 03-03-20
I am a fairly avid listener to audiobooks especially science fiction. This book had so much potential but the narration was inconsistent and frankly kind of weird in some places. And the story was plodding and written in almost a childish manner. I think what disappointed me most was that the story really never came to a satisfying conclusion and there was so much left to explore between the aliens and the humans. In summary it had the potential but fell far short of it.

Historia
One week after their 11th birthday, the Fowl twins - scientist Myles, and Beckett, the force of nature - are left in the care of house security (NANNI) for a single night. In that time they befriend a troll who has clawed his way through the earth's crust to the surface. Unfortunately for the troll, he is being chased by a nefarious nobleman and an interrogating nun, who both need the magical creature for their own gain, as well as a fairy-in-training who has been assigned to protect him. The boys and their new troll best friend escape and go on the run.

I rarely write Reviews but...
Revisado: 01-13-20
I am rarely compelled to write reviews of books that I listen to, but I feel that this deserves a fair shake. I have been a long time fan of the Artemis Fowl Series, The last few books in that series were unfortunately in my opinion lackluster at best, but this one has breathed new life into a dying series. The plot was compelling (maybe a bit predictable at times for older readers), the characters were fun and imaginative, the gadgets were satisfying and believable, and the whit made me laugh out loud at some points. To summarize, if you still fondly remember reading your first Artemis Fowl book this will bring you right back to that point. I highly recommend fans of the series give it a listen.
