I love Jewel E. Ann's books, and this is really different. The Montana settings is familiar, but the story has a different twist. She loves the single dad theme, and airplane mechanic, Ozzy, is a great character who is a widowerer who lost his wife in a car wreck. Consequently, his 10 year old daughter, Lola, refuses to ride in a car, and insists her dad do the same. Maren is a fire-fighting pilot who turns their little duo upside down. I've never read a book where the characters' only mode of transportation is bicycles. Endearing characters, some familiar from previous JEA books, and interesting storyline. I recommend.

The story itself is predictable, but I thought it was so well written that I found it engrossing. It had most of the hallmarks of a Kristin Hannah novel, but this time without a tragedy. There was a whiny woman who is fairly unlikeable and drives away the long-suffering, good guy husband. There's the sweet girl from the wrong side of town who just wants a family. This mother was a little worse than most. And family does triumph in the end. There is some heartbreak and sadness but there is a happy ending.

I think I sobbed throughout the last half of this book. Kristin Hannah is very good at drawing maternal characters who you find easy to dislike in the beginning. then they have an epiphany that causes them to evaluate their behavior and prove redemption is never too late. loved the characters of Lexi, Zach and Mia, Scott and Aunt Eva. She is masterful at closing out the story in a satisfactory way. I thought the narrarator was good for the young female voices, but the male parts were weak, especially Zach, who sounded very effeminate. Great book but a tearjerker.

This was such a beautiful story, with brilliantl y written characters. one of the amazing things is how masterful the narrator was with voicing each character. There were one or two misses, but Kitty was spot on as were Laura and Cat, Orlando, Fi and Jack. There were so many surprises along the way, especially as the truth about Laura's life unfolded. i was genuinely sad for it to end. I love Karen Swan books.

This book is a perfect example of why you should not give up on a book after a few chapters. i did not enjoy the beginning of the book, but I think it was because the narrator seemed too juvenile. I wasn't connecting with the characters either. Then when Poppy became the focus, that all changed. The characters came into their own, find their destiny, and it all makes sense. I loved the story. it was different and unique. Even the narrators voice changed. Really well done.

I honestly wanted to like this book, but it was just very confusing and disappointing. I wanted so much more from the Antonio storyline, so the end just frustrated me. In the end, it was very depressing. Too many marriages, too much mental illness, too much everything. The narrator spoke very good Italian, but a strong Canadian accent (I guess) spoiled the reading for me. Just messy.

Sophie Cousens has such a delightful, quirky sense of humor, and I love her books. Anna is faithful to her role as full-time single mother who works full-time and has little time for herself. Her forays into the dating world makes for a very entertaining plot. As usual, Cousens writes with brilliance and depth as well as humor.

Nothing to set this story apart from 1000 other billionaire romances with a hard-headed woman and a little drama. Way too much graphic sex, if that is your jam. i didn't love the narrators either. Just not much to recommend it.

Let me begin by saying, this would have gotten a 5 star rating just because Julia Whelan is narrating. But the story itself was very good, and it is very well written. I thought this was going to be a thriller, but while it involves a murder and mystery, it is really more of a romance. The flashbacks are a little confusing, but come together perfectly in the end. I liked it a lot.

The Berry Pickers is beautifully written, but it seems to focus primarily with loss of every kind. it is a depressing, morose book for most of it, although there was a little joy, briefly, in the end. it earned a 5-star rating from me primarily for the writing. The plot is just too ponderous for me to lo love.
