Historia
In this bestselling debut, criminal defense lawyer Joe Dillard has become jaded over the years as he's tried to balance his career against his conscience. Savvy but cynical, Dillard wants to quit doing criminal defense, but he can't resist the chance to represent someone who might actually be innocent. His drug-addicted sister has just been released from prison and his mother is succumbing to Alzheimer's, but Dillard's commitment to the case never wavers despite the personal troubles and professional demands that threaten to destroy him.

This is an excellent aaudiobook. It gave solutions to many blocks to creativity using real world examples and figure-heads who have mastered their crafts. Each person offers a different solution which the author has broken down into categories.

Eye Opener
Revisado: 12-06-17
I love this book! I love her passion, care, and devotion to her readers. I laughed when she laughed and was steaming mad when she was angry, too. I rooted for Guylay the whole time because she put forth a true eye opener of a book for those of us wanting to become career writers or those seeking a hobby to write.
Guylay pulled the veil away from the publishing industry. The mystery of making it in this business has been revealed, and she provides a course of action with links to her blog.

Historia
Tempted to give up? Here's how to keep going. If you browse through the interviews with some of the most successful people on Earth, you'll find one common piece of advice shared by virtually all of them: They never give up on their big goals. Research shows that grit is a better predictor for success than any other factor. The ability to keep going despite setbacks is more important than your IQ, character, or external factors like your upbringing or surroundings.

Very Applicable to Daily Life
Revisado: 12-25-15
This is a great book that offers real life examples of things to try when you feel like giving up. We've all been there; some of us more than others.
I listened to the audio version. There are many references and quotes, and also, other author's websites and books that I want to re-read. Excellent advice and information to keep going- especially when we might not feel like it.
