Historia
Sending Dirk back to his father is complicated, but I have to do it. Even if it’s for a short time, I know that father and son need to talk about what’s changed between them. They need to talk about what the future holds for both of them. One year. That was how long we wanted to keep his new status as a werewolf as secret as possible, before we involved the family. That one year is up, and now, it’s time to face the music. Niko is only the start.

Conflict in family and love’s resolve
Revisado: 09-07-24
Enjoyed this book immensely! Jackie partners not with Heath but his son to solve disappearances with pack member and her family. More background information about werecat Nico fills out his reclusive character. And a big surprise at the end in the fracture of Jackie’s werecat family and it’s resolution. Looking forward to the next Jackie Leon book.

Historia
Lizbeth Rose is awaiting the arrival of her sister Felicia and her husband’s younger brother Eli in Texcoma. Both needed to leave the seat of the Holy Russian Empire in San Diego after Felicia’s burgeoning wizardly power in death magic became the reason for kidnapping and assassination attempts from her mother’s family of high-powered wizards in Mexico. Yet bad news has traveled ahead of them, as Eli is called back to San Diego, taking Peter along with him, splitting them apart in more ways than one as their enemies’ plans for revenge come to fruition.

Good but left feeling too much contrived
Revisado: 10-29-23
I agree with another reviewer it seems that CH wants to kill off Gunny series to dedicate writing for a Felicia series. Many events pop up with little explanation which at book end try to be explained too hard and awkwardly. Yes, much of the information and drama points to advancement in the next book. The changes in perspective from Lizbeth to Felicia chapter by chapter as story developed was interesting. Narration was top rate! I will continue to follow/buy any and all upcoming books that move the story of both Lizbeth Rose and Felicia Karkarova.

Historia
Thanks to house tamer Hulda Larkin, the mischief infesting Whimbrel House has calmed. But if Hulda’s job is done, what does that mean for Merritt Fernsby, inheritor of the remote Narragansett Bay estate, who’s only now coming to terms with his enchanted place in the world? Merritt has realized his own burgeoning powers, which draw the thoughts of every plant, insect, and dog. His nights are sleepless, with an uncontrollable cacophony of voices that compel a long-overdue search into his uncanny bloodline. It’s not the only puzzle uniting Merritt and his ex-housekeeper, Hulda.

A sequel as good as the first
Revisado: 07-01-23
A good story with this sequel building on the characters from the first book. I was drawn in to care about the characters. Romance between Merritt and Hulda grows as another facet in the story. There is mystery to solve with twists and turns. Definitely would like a 3rd book in the series if the last line in this book indicates what will happen.

Best!
Revisado: 05-17-23
Completely different from 1st book but tied to it by the 2 characters of Pepper and AI Lovelace. An exploration of personality triumphing over mechanical. Engrossing, thought provoking, funny enough to laugh about some part of storyline. No swashbuckling action! I will be thinking about this story for a long time. So glad to have read it.

Historia
From executive producers of The Walking Dead and Travis Beacham, the writer of Pacific Rim, comes a heart-stopping Audible Original featuring a brilliant British cast. It’s the near future and seven years since a comet hit the earth and blotted out the sun. The world is a dark, frozen landscape. And then, beastly creatures emerge and take over. A story of apocalypse, horror, and adventure, Impact Winter is a wholly original new saga created just for Audible with immersive 3D audio that dares you to pop in your earbuds and listen in the dark.

A theatrical play!
Revisado: 06-02-22
WOW! Took me a little time to get use to NOT having the story read but acted out as a play you only hear, not see. But a great listening experience. Story was good, better than I expected after the first understanding of dark sky and vampires. Dramatic music to signal chapter breaks was overdramatic but got the point across. Good character development with a few surprises. Enjoyed the audio once I fell into the rhythm of hearing a play as on a radio.

Revisado: 03-02-21
The Russian Cage does not disappoint. Story line continues to hold your attention, even as it is mostly focused on Lizbeth and Eli. Good to see the character of Felix more fleshed out. Narration continues to be very good. This series is another fantastic read by Charlaine Harris.

A story of description
Revisado: 02-23-21
First impression is of the high amount of descriptive material. Words that fill the texture and feeling of the world. Overall he story line did not support the weight of the descriptive words. I finished the story not because I was immersed in it but simply wanted it to end. Narration was excellent but pace was slow.

Historia
Bill Bryson once again proves himself to be an incomparable companion as he guides us through the human body - how it functions, its remarkable ability to heal itself, and (unfortunately) the ways it can fail. Full of extraordinary facts (your body made a million red blood cells since you started reading this) and irresistible Bryson-esque anecdotes, The Body will lead you to a deeper understanding of the miracle that is life in general and you in particular. As Bill Bryson writes, "We pass our existence within this wobble of flesh and yet take it almost entirely for granted."

Enjoyed the book very much. Bill Bryson was difficult to understand in some spots and I would have preferred another reader with a bit more energy or emotion in his/her voice. Recommend this book to everyone.
