Good for inspiration, not for enjoyment
Revisado: 09-01-17
The performances are fairly well done, but some of the stories don't translate well to pure audio. If you had the companion books, this would be a pretty good listen. However, I think when reading with children, there is a certain quality of character that comes out better when you read these stories live. So only get this if you want to get some ideas on how to read these books.

Historia
Zack Lightman has never much cared for reality. He vastly prefers the countless science-fiction movies, books, and videogames he's spent his life consuming. And too often, he catches himself wishing that some fantastic, impossible, world-altering event could arrive to whisk him off on a grand spacefaring adventure.

Could be better...
Revisado: 09-15-16
Enjoyable, but much less engaging than Ready Player One due to less focus on world building and a more predictable plot. The characters also get less fleshed out and aren't developed as well, so you don't get as much emotional attachment to them. A greater focus on the suspense and philosophy would have made this book much better.
Overall, it's still a good listen, and Wheaton fits the protagonist role well.

Historia
In the year 2045, reality is an ugly place. The only time Wade Watts really feels alive is when he’s jacked into the OASIS, a vast virtual world where most of humanity spends their days. Super Fun
Revisado: 01-15-16
Driven by the amazing performance, the story would make any gamer geek feel like they are living out a fantasy adventure. While it's not the most complex story, it still has enough twists and turns to make you want to keep listening. If I had to describe it in a single word, I'd say that Ready Player One is fun.

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

Enthralling story with a perfect performance
Revisado: 01-10-16
The story kept me drawn in all of the way. As a huge science and math geek, I enjoyed how seamlessly the science and numbers were woven into the narrative. Combined with an amazing delivery, I'd list this as the best audiobook I've listened to yet.

Historia
The critically acclaimed author of The Radleys shares a clever, heartwarming, and darkly insightful novel about an alien who comes to Earth to save humans from themselves. When an extraterrestrial visitor arrives on Earth, his first impressions of the human species are less than positive. But as time goes on, he starts to realize there may be more to this weird species than he has been led to believe. Eventually, the narrator sees hope and redemption in the humans' imperfections and begins to question the very mission that brought him there.

Takes a bit to get into but worth it.
Revisado: 10-04-15
It took me a bit of time to get into the book, but once you understand the characters, you get really invested into the story. The peaks and valleys in the plot were great and the ending was fantastic. It may not be for everyone, but if it's for you, it'll be amazing.

Great content, but a bit too fast paced
Revisado: 06-29-15
The topics and content was great just like on their YouTube channel. However, since it is written and performed in the same style, the narration ends up being a bit too fast for an audio book. Without the normal visual cues, it requires more concentration to really consume the content. It would have been much more enjoyable and relaxing if they slowed down and paced themselves better for the audio book.
