Where’s the video?
Revisado: 02-22-24
This sounded like fun but there’s no point to it without video. Still gave it 5 stars anyway.

Her music and movies are great, her not so much
Revisado: 12-24-23
I'm a fan of Barbra's music and her movies but this book made me realize I'm not a fan of Barbra. She says several times how she doesn't think she's wonderful but then totally negates it with unending stories hammering home how wonderful other famous people thinks she is. This book is a master class in name dropping. She includes some negative reviews but then skewers the writers, along with anyone who's ever disagreed with her. She goes so far as to disparage their looks and attributing any negativity to jealously, unrequited love, lying, etc. She blames her mother for everything, and idolizes a father she never knew, please, that story has been played out in Psychiatrist chairs around the world. She is an extremely intelligent woman who is quick to play dumb when anyone says something she disagrees with, if she said "huh" one more time...
For a self proclaimed social warrior she is very unabashed about how much money she has spent on parties, artwork, homes, etc. She gets a deli owner to give her free food and friends to buy her expensive art that she can easily afford herself. It's staggering how many families she could pull out of poverty with how much money she wastes on herself.
Most will adore this book as they adore her. Personally I will stick to enjoying the art and skip bowing at the altar she puts herself on.

Love Coffee with My Mom Episodes
Revisado: 09-29-23
Conversations with Mom are always interesting. I love her quick wit and occasional deadpan presentation when she knows she’s saying something funny but plays it off. This one hits home, my dad was an NYPD Detective and he fingerprinted Mickey Mantle for a pistol license. Mickey ended up not getting the permit so I have the signed fingerprint cards. They had him stand in a lineup with the detectives and I have the photo from that as well. An awesome memory from dad that you reminded me of, thank you!

Killer coyotes, cataract surgery, cheating on eye exams, pellets in Chuck’s ass, the Florida wedding, John’s teeth lost at the rehearsal dinner, Mike channels his QVC days, Peggy plays Vanna White, John’s confusing anatomy, sapele vs oak, opening night of the Winter Follies, and the auctioning of an oversized napkin holder filled with Peggy’s books. In other words, just another Coffee with Mom!

Historia
As the true horrors of the Third Reich began to be exposed immediately after World War II, the Nazi war criminals who committed genocide went on the run. A few were soon caught, including the notorious SS leader Heinrich Himmler. Others, however, evaded capture through a sophisticated Nazi organization designed to hide them. Among them were Josef Mengele, the “Angel of Death” who performed hideous medical experiments at Auschwitz; Martin Bormann, Hitler’s brutal personal secretary; Klaus Barbie, the cruel "Butcher of Lyon"; and perhaps the most awful Nazi of all: Adolf Eichmann.

Not up to par for O'Reilly
Revisado: 03-27-21
I usually enjoy listening to Bill O'Reilly's books read by him but he phoned this one in. He rushed through it as if he were speed reading and he spat out the words. He must have had somewhere else to be that day, very disappointing.
