good content, worst imaginable reading style
Revisado: 04-01-22
reader reads like a bad text-to-speech robot. but the book content is good. Does repeat itself a lot, could be noticeably condensed.

Historia
There used to be two teams in every workplace: management and labor. Now there’s a third team, the linchpins. These people invent, lead (regardless of title), connect others, make things happen, and create order out of chaos. They figure out what to do when there’s no rule book. They delight and challenge their customers and peers. They love their work, pour their best selves into it, and turn each day into a kind of art.

Gives me the courage to do my job
Revisado: 02-18-16
If you could sum up Linchpin in three words, what would they be?
EMPOWERING. FREEING.
What did you like best about this story?
I listened to half of this before the first day on a new, challenging, open-ended job and it has given me the courage and guts to do what needs to be done. I don't know how things would have gone if Seth hadn't been there encouraging me through the inevitable self-doubt that I see in myself, in new hires in so many roles, in friends with their jobs, and in even the most experienced employees or managers. Now a few months in to my job, I'm picking it up again and listening every few days on my commute to remember who and what I need to be to make a difference. THE BEST BUSINESS BOOK EVER WRITTEN, PERIOD. Reminds me of what I love about my job and that I don't need to be perfect to be good enough and make great things happen.

Fantastic narrators!
Revisado: 02-18-16
Would you listen to Words of Radiance again? Why?
The narrators on this book (and book 1 in the series) make it a novel I truly prefer listening to. Every hour of the 45 is just great. The book as a whole is even better than the 1st in the series.
What does Michael Kramer and Kate Reading bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
EXCELLENT narration. Emotion, characters, bringing the whole story to life in a way I have never experience with other narrators or stories.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Enjoyed this over many drives to work, on errands, and any other excuse I had to get in the car.

Read it don't listen
Revisado: 10-14-15
Started this on paper and bought it in audio form because that's easier for me to get to that way. However, with this book the narrator's voice sounds so self-centered and sarcastic I can't stand it. I sped it up to 1.25x but the egotistical, drawling tone of voice still comes through. I'll be finishing it on paper.
